I agree with the OP. One of the perennial issues that I have repeatedly said Blackberry and the Blackberry fan-sites have to evolve from is this sort of pinstripe/fratboy/male-centric mentality.
It is evident on Crackberry frequently, though in fact I think it has moderated somewhat over the last few months.
If Blackberry is to have any hope of broadening its appeal beyond its traditional business-suit demographic (at least here in the USA - it seems to have a much broader appeal in ie developing countries where young people in particular take advantage of its cost-effective BIS plans and BBM), it needs to stop with the "dude-centric" imagery and humor.
This is why I liked the appointment of Alicia Keys - I was hoping that would have a positive impact on broadening Blackberry demographic appeal.

I've written it here several times before.
FTR: I personally have no issue with sexy imagery, in fact there is VERY little in that respect that offends me. But I also know that there are many people who are offended by that sort of thing, and unless Blackberry and the Blackberry community wants to just blow those people's business off, they need to consider their sentiments on things too.02-21-13 02:26 PMLike 0 - I'm offended that the is-it-a-stripper-pole-or-not pic isn't there for me to comment on.
On to the next worthless thread while waiting for the Z10 to release in the US of A......sigh.....02-21-13 02:27 PMLike 0 -
This is something Reeneebob, PP and I have discussed.
We need more women in CB....but the last woman we had as mod was a bit pugnacious. Michelle is not strident like that.
OK, back to the debauchery.......
Just finished my banana.....need another.

And for the record, I'm not a dude, so I'm thinking of being offended by your statements.
Also, if anything, that picture is motivation for getting off the couch (or out from behind a computer) and participating in some kind of fitness. I'm totally jelly of that chick's abs, and seeing them is a reminder that I should do something about it.

Also as previously mentioned, it has apparently been toned-down a bit over the last few months, which I think is good. Honestly I think they're too busy running around posting about substantive stuff these days to post as much of the frat-boy stuff as they used to.02-21-13 02:41 PMLike 0
