How I've done it and how much I've saved.

last year hacking cost me 3 laptops and nuisance calls cost me a phone contract and a WIFI box. Oh and 8 antivirus packages, a 3 paid professional fixes though I only had to pay for 1 as the level of expertise was beyond the first 2 guys. I was happy to let them have a crack as I couldn't fix it.

First thing I did was delete everything all those online accounts off, especially social networking. I said goodbye to using the top 100 USA websites. Cancelled my phone contract, attempted to go Anonymous which is scary, when you turn off the filters and censorship the internet becomes the worlds largest mine field with the worlds narrowest path to safe browsing.
"Switched to pay as I go till a call comes through I don't like then just bin sim" then start again.

I suppose I just got fed up with boiler rooms and fishing mind tricks, unplugging the wall socket all calls to answer phone, Lie detection software now there is a thing.

4 grand in laptops is a lot but its more the disruption than the money, sitting down and fixing hacks and wholes is a drag if its you verses the world. Anti virus what a waste of time a product that comes out once a year but is redundant in 6 months. For a while I tried changing antivirus each time but even that isn't safe as some mags don't vet their ads. This came to my attention a while back when a friend of mine took out a regular double page add pretending to review nightclubs so he could go VIP 5 days a week clubbing for free with drinks.
Antivirus is like giving a crack addict a 60 pound to do the shopping every few months.

When you start to look at the code that's injected as you surf something clicks. Apps are the worst you simply can't trust an app that wants access to anything most of the time. This a long story I might have to post a reply to finish it.

But I'll leave you with 1 thought all this still cost less than my cousins iphone contract bill for the year.

I am having a hard time understanding your post. You lost 4 laptops to viruses and scams?

Agreed your editorial is all over the map without clear explanations of the subjects you are talking about, sound like you've had WAY too much coffee!!!

    Scams, Phishing, nuisance calls ..

    My advice:
On pc, you should just use a virtual machine. Install your Os on it and browse the Internet. Nothing gets on your real pc's Os harddrive (turn of 'sharing folders' with actual harddrive). It's like a sandbox really.

Nuisance calls: only accept calls from people you know. Block all others, set notification sounds for known numbers or just don't pick up. Not sure why you felt you needed to cancel your phone contract.
