Google makes money on ads. Targeting by monitoring your e-mail and searches is the first order of business.

    Hi and welcome to CB!
This has been going on for years as far as I'm concerned. Every time I do a search or make a purchase online, I see those same ads whenever I go on the internet. In fact, I never see anything except stuff that I am "interested" in...its all tailored to my searches.

Acumen is good but the overall secrecy and invasive nature of the process is bad.

Totally unrelated to what you actually do online, of course

Some folks may not know, but that has been the case since Google got going. They get paid per click on those links, even if you went 'oops'. And my, how the money rolls in.....

Lol then it's New to YOU! But it has been going on forever.

I notice this even on sites like facebook. Advertisements are always geared towards things i have been searching online. Clear cookies and I'm sure it stops temporarily
