new laptop
Tech gurus help!
Ok so my laptop died a couple days ago. If I turn it on it will run for a couple mins and then die again. Its getting kind of old and instead of repairing it I think I'm just gonna get a new one. I am in college right now so I need to take care of this ASAP. I also need to keep thay in mind when choosing the pc. Just wondering if yall had any suggestions. I'm looking for something powerful anf that will be fun to play with but not too increadibly huge to lug around campus. Any help would be appreciated as I don't realky know where to start. What are the top brands to look at and the ones u would say to stay away from?
Thanks

Depends what are you taking in college. Something you might find usefull is looking for a convertible tablet (its a laptop that the screen folds down and you can write on)
I'm in 3rd year engineering at university of calgary and its very convenient.

There are always good deals on 15" HP's at Staples, Office Max, etc. They have 7xxx or 8xxx Centrino processors 4GB of ram and 300GB hard disk. Some have nVidia graphics cards.

Most laptops have about the same specs nowadays. For me, the most important factor is how the screen looks. I also don't care for the size of the keys on HP, they're too big.
