Heh. I was just looking at iPhone OS4. OS3 was cut and paste, A2DP and MMS. Bad RIM!
The UI is what is being emulated. The form factor of the device as well. We all now Apple took its sweet *** time to add some things, because they don't just slap things into the OS. The copy and paste, for example, is one of the best on a touchscreen. The iPhone multitasking will place no extra strain on the battery by allowing the core funtion of the app to function, not every last aspect of it. Thoughtful multitasking. Apple doesn't do, or conversely not do, things for no reason.
Well said.... And it is a good thing. Competition is good for the consumer.
The first storm didn't have wifi. It was buggy, clunky and no flick scrolling. The iphone couldn't multitask, couldn't participate in MMS, and well you get the picture. they both heard the voice of the consumer and have all of the above.

Basically us BB lovers who have owned many different BB devices see it as the same thing over and over again.n The last next gen BBs were the 9000 and 8900 now everything else is based on those two devices.
Are you suggesting this thread is flame bait?
Wait... yup the OP posted then ran for the hills, hasn't been seen since. I'll move this discussion to the detox center.
The UI? You mean a screen with a bunch of apps on it? Oh yeah. No one's thought of that before. I also can't think of any BlackBerrys that look anything like the iPhone. Either way, your post doesn't address the fact that iPhones copy other smartphones as much as others copy them.

You're missing it. It's the entire experience of the iPhone, maybe I should have been more specific. How smooth it scrolls, how easy it is to set the settings, how clearly the core functions of the phone are laid out, my grandmother has an iPhone and she had it down 5 minutes after owning it. There is one button on the front, thats it. No menu button, nothing special to close an app, the home button does it all. That's what companies are trying to do. Look at OS6, "Cover Flow" based media scrolling for music. The photo viewer is is said to have a grid like look. Pinch-to-zoom in various parts of the OS.
Like I already said, the iPhone emulates as much as it gets emulated.
