Yes this is Crackberry. I promised my spouse great things from her playbook. Sooo I am now replacing it but...iPad or nexus? she mainly uses it for books and Netflix. Her prior phone was iPhone but her music and most apps (or equivalents like soundhound) have been ported installed on z10. She might user the browser a bit. Suggestions please. Benefits of one over the orher.

I had a ipad, sold it, bought a nexus, sold it and bought another Ipad, I just liked the form factor better on the ipad, and the battery life is so much better on the ipad.

Hmm I would recommend the nexus 10 actually. It's a great screen, great build, speakers are awesome and it's about a $100 cheaper at $399

How about a Microsoft Surface RT?

    - 2 GB RAM
    - Quad-Core Processor
    - Micro SD Card Slot
    - USB Slot (connect directly to printers, mouse, keyboard, scanner)
    - HDMI output (can use more than one screen at the same time!)
    - Full multitasking (like the PlayBook)
    - Full MS Office Suite (real Office, not Docs to Go or Pages)
    - Outlook (with 8.1)
    - Full Flash support
    - Stereo speakers
    - Full Keyboard and Mouse support (Bluetooth)
    - Skype, Netflix, most apps
    - Great battery life
    - Great build quality
    - Gorilla glass
    - Kickstand (really helpful)

    Just sayin'....

Nexus has no SD card slot...deal breaker for me, got a Galaxy Tab 3 on sale and 64G SD card and it does the job for what I need, browsing, movies, Netflix and banking apps.

I have an Acer Iconia A1. It's the same form factor of the ipad mini, albeit a little thicker, with very comparable internals of the nexus 7. Best of both worlds in my opinion

My wife loves her Surface RT. She's an Accountant for a nearby university. She loves the fact that she has a full functioning Office Suite on the go. Even her coworkers are intrigued by the full functionality of the device. She's also in grad school to which she is excited to use the RT for.

I also dumped the PlayBook and adopted the RT. I really like it as well.

It's still light on the app side but that's not really the intent of the tablet or laplet (laptop and tablet).

It's a really nice tool to have.

RT is a joke and is already dead.
    Just saying.....

Full windows 8 on a tablet or you're just wasting your money. It's like buying a 2nd playbook only from Microsoft. Worst decision anyone can make.

Really? The Surface RT and Pro are the ONLY tablets that have 100% compatibility with MS Office. That in itself is a huge competitive advantage. Ask yourself a simple question... when you're on your PC or Mac, what "apps" do you run 90% of the time? Browser...office suite... ? I'm sure you don't run fart apps or web apps.

Give the Surface RT a chance. Take it for a spin and return it if you don't like it. My daughter and wife have an iPad retina and mini, respectively, they play games and do other trivial things. I create and edit documents, use the full web, and hook up to corporate Outlook... sure.. and I play games and watch Netflix. Overall, the Surface Is a more versatile device. Give it a chance.

If you familiarize yourself with the RT, you'll know what I'm referring to.

    Easy.
