where do u live?
If I was guessing somewhere near Twin Cities.MN.
Unfortunately that's the nature of cable internet. Its shared bandwith so the more people using it the slower it is until the ISP upgrades to handle larger loads. That's why I have DSL. Its dedicated bandwidth so you get the speed you are paying for.
Or you can allways have a dedicated T1 line like I have. :D
Wow. I have always had a 8000+ upload speed and over 16,000 for my download speed. I have never had any major problems with comcast other than their scheduled downtime that they fail to tell their paying customers about a lot of the time.

What's the difference between cable, dsl and say a wireless 3mbps connection? I'm setting up an appointment to get the wireless next week - I am in the country and the wireless is my only option - but my boss wants me to have the wireless so I can monitor alarms at home. I hope I never see a speed like poor punks! The phone company, Quest, doesn't even offer DSL out here.
Wish I could get a sweet T1 here - like at work. I'm afraid my wife would monopolize it shopping. I need to post a question/thread about it in the tmo forum.
