A few weeks ago, I applied for a position with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Department, and this morning I had a very important test I needed to take at 7:30am. Of course, in true Mike fashion, I procrastinated like a mofo and waited until 2:45am to save some paperwork onto my flash drive, drive to Kinkos, and have said documents printed for the test at 7:30am. Keep in mind these documents are required for me to even take my test. Otherwise, I just wasted a lot of time and effort for a job I really want. So, while at Kinkos, what else should happen but a major setback. The problem is that my flash drive went bonkers when I gave it to my buddy at Kinkos. My flash drive would not let me view the documents I needed for the morning. Of all the times that something could go wrong, this morning was the worst! Just as I was beginning to think I am way beyond screwed and a total *****, I realized I had the email attachment containing the documents saved on my phone. Thank God for BlackBerry push email! So I go into my email on my phone, find the 3 documents that I need, and forward them to the Kinkos email address. Within a matter of minutes I had averted a disaster in my job application process! My good friend Joey was able to print everything I needed for my test. Despite all the stress and having only slept for 2 hours, I managed to score a 94/100 on my first test, 76/80 on the second one, type 178 keystrokes a min. with 100% accuracy, and type 56 wpm also with 100% accuracy. In the end, everything turned out just fine. I just thought I'd share my ridiculous experience from this morning and give a shameless plug for BlackBerry phones
