We had a bout of severe weather on Saturday. The sky was looking more fierce every second. I had an appointment @ a spa. I was @ the desk waiting to check in, when the lights suddenly went out & everything was dark except for the little light coming through the windows in the rooms surrounding the main lobby (and the sky was getting darker by the minute so there really wasn't much light @ all). There were a couple people @ the desk in the process of checking out & making their payments, but the electricity knocked the spa's payment equipment offline. The front desk clerks were saying that if only they had a flashlight they could take their credit card numbers down to process later. I took out my BB & turned on the video camera light. Everyone cheered, lol. They took down the credit card numbers, & then took my phone to use the light to find some candles (which, being @ a spa, one would think they'd have candles readily available).

After a few minutes in the dark, we heard the storm suddenly stop. No wind or anything. We went outside & sure enough, the clouds were churning like crazy! The sirens weren't going off, so we figured we were fine for the time being. When we went back into the office, I brought up several different maps on my BB & we used that to track the line of storms coming through. After about a half hour the lights came back on & EVERYONE wanted to see what kind of phone I had! They were really impressed.

I know that there are many phones that could've done what my BB did that day. Heck I could've done that w/ my old Sidekick. But, it was a neat experience, nonetheless .

The flash comes in handy when the lights go out.

Once I was on a boat ride (it was a 3 hour tour) and the weather started getting rough. Our tiny ship was tossed and we were lost at sea. If not for my Blackberry (I ate it to stay alive) I may not be here today.

You put your own life ahead of the life of your poor, loyal BlackBerry? People like you make me sick

Nothing like the excitement of a terrible storm at a nice relaxing spa! haha glad there was no twister and hopefully minimal damage!

I used mine as a flashlight a couple times when I was in TN at the camp because we all forgot to grab our flashlights at the cabin because we were so busy. Works like a champ.
