Can't. Still too dark. We'll see what things look like when day breaks.

About 100 miles from where I am, Anchorage, the largest city in the stae.

Is this mtn. close to a populous area?
Like 100 miles away from the largest city in the state, Anchorage; where I am still up by my window waiting for ash to fall. :

I think that probably answered that question. Haha.

So far, no ash has it Anchorage and they're not expecting it to. Airport is still open and flights are landing and taking off, which is a good sign. I highly doubt we'll be affected by it at all.

Just thought i'd share this with the OP-jesse.joseph-and whoever else found it interesting. this was in The Record this morning with a pix i posted, but kinda hard to see:

Alaska's Mt.Redoubt volcano-loc'd about 50mls no.of Anchorage, spewing steam before erupting and sending ash plume more that 9mls into the air Monday in the volcanos first emissions in nearly 20yrs. Anchorage residents were spared from falling ash-though fine gray dust fell Monday on small communities north of the city.

For those of u in the bergen county jersey area this is in The Record on pgA4
