Ok, admit it. We all have gotten the lyrics to a song waaaaaayyyyy wrong.

I was just listening to Angel by Shaggy on the radio a minute ago and remembered that I used to think the lyric was "closer than my briefs you are to me" (made sense to me)

It was actually "closer than my peeps", I found out by singing it wrong in a car with friends. You can imagine how mortified I was, as they were all female

What was your biggest misheard lyric mistake

Instead of "Excuse me while I kiss the sky."
    Sorry, Jimi.

    That's funny Doc. Haha.

Erm, I dunno any :-/ never really misheard them. If I think of any I'll lettcha know.

One thing that made me laugh is I went on a lyrics site (well, 3 of them) to get Timbaland- The Way I Are lyrics for my MSN screen name. After stating that he has no money to keep his girl happy, no car to take her on a date, she apparently replies:
I don't need the CHEESE or the car keys boy, I like you just the way you are.
    When it's supposed to be;
I don't need the Gs, as in money. Gawwwd. Made me laugh.

Best one I remember was a neighbor of mine years ago thought that The Who song, "Eminence Front" was "Livin' in Detroit"

    Not even CLOSE...

I crack up every time I hear that song - to this day.

    Alanis Morissette's "Uninvited"

    Must be somewhat heartening
to watch shepherd "eat shed fur".

Yep...and I sang it like it made sense. Although, there was some inner conflict with trying to reconcile "heartening" with eating shed fur.

    Just sayin'....

I know I'm not the only one that has misheard the song "Blinded by the Light" by Bruce Springsteen as I've discussed this with a lot of people.

Heard Lyric: "Wrapped up like a d.o.u.c.h.e, in the middle of the night."
Actual Lyric: "Revved up like a duece, another runner in the night."

And we should qualify that further......The misheard is more pronounced in the Manfred Mann cover version. Bruce's I can kind of hear it properly.......
