I just don't understand your enthusiasm for memes - i don't even find them humorous, creative, intelligent or pleasing in any way.

It seems to be an american way of expression because i vary rarely see memes in european forums. What is that fascination about? Can somebody explain it to me? Where are the pictures taken from, why are they often the same?

Lol, how about this:
They're not supposed to be creative or intelligent. They're generally fairly dumb. But the old saying is that a picture is worth a thousand words, and in this case I think it's applicable.
Maybe memes are a rebellion against the convention that you need a lot of words to make your point (hear that Congress?). Or maybe its they're an attempt to throw some humour (since you prefer Europeans ) into an increasingly dreary world.
Or maybe they're just silly pictures and sillier words posted by even sillier people with simple minds from a simple basement. Pick your favorite.
