Those Apollo 11 astronauts had balls of steel to pull off what they did.

Of course a lot of credit goes to the smart engineers at NASA as well.

I've met at least 5-6 Canadians who think the program was a hoax. Is that actually a common view up there??! I would hope not.

    I think it's a hoax.
Come on.. they did in 69, and nobody else can do it again after 45 years with all the tech we have now?
They sent robots to Mars and not Man to the moon again and again? LOL.

Our smartphones now are waaayyyy smarter than the computers in 69.

    Yeah.... okay.....
There is no valid economic reason to go back to the moon.
Very funny how you are okay with the fact that missions have been flown to Mars.
The Easiest proof of man on the moon is the refractory devices on the earth facing side of the moon placed there by Apollo 11,14,15 ,still in use today used to map the rate that the moon is moving away from the earth by bouncing laser pulses off of them and recording the distance .
Even the Chinese (2010)acknowledge man on the moon with their own satellite sent up that recorded imagery of the Apollo landing sites.
Japan, in 2008 has released images of Apollo landings.
India documented Apollo sites with their satellite, and yes, have their own space program, their own space probes, and their own launch vehicles.
And last but not least, the friggin Russians admit it's true. What the hell do they have to gain by admitting that the U.S. stomped them in the space race.
There is vast amounts of independent evidence not from NASA, or the U.S. , confirming NASA claims.
You need to pull your head out of your rear.

I get your train of thought, but technology today is so good we can send it up to space to do the many things that we previously risked human lives to do. Modern technology is putting a robot on a barren wasteland so far away that it would be too expensive and dangerous to send humans. Other than that we don't need to go to the moon. There is nothing the moon is more useful for than sitting in our sky looking pretty.. and controlling tidal currents. We wouldn't want to alter that in any way. Maybe a have a base on the moon. Maybe. Still little reason for it currently and still pretty expensive.
