Job wants me to learn Spanish they are paying for the school and will give me bi lingual language pay. My question is they want it done in less than a year.
How hard is to learn

I have to say, I really enjoyed working with them, besides learning the language and being able to practice every day, some of the kindest and most helpful friends I've known.
I have been trying to learn and plan on taking an actual Spanish class this summer/fall. Then as part of my immersion, can I come live with you? You can only speak to me in Spanish, fashion or discipline

I'm Lebanese and don't speak a lick of Arabic because quite frankly I don't
really care to learn it. But when I tried to learn it, it was hard.
But Spanish, I'm fluent in. Took two years of it in high school. My teacher was
a black guy, who knew 4 other languages. In those 2 years, we didn't use not
one textbook. Not one. Because of him I speak Spanish fluently and am pretty
good at reading and writing it.
Moral of the story here is that if my moronic self could learn Spanish, anyone can.
try watching telenovelas or the news in spanish. you start to pick up a little bit.
I used to speak spanish more when I was younger because that was all my paternal grandparents spoke. started to lose it as I got older. but where I work now, I'd say 85% of the patients only speak spanish. so it's allowed me to practice more.
Immersion is really the best way, even then it can take more than a year. One year is not enough time through course work alone to become fluent in Spanish. How do they want you to use the language? Will you be required to translate spoken and/or written words? Will you be required to communicate, verablly and in written form using the language? Spanish and English are both alphabetic languages and since you are fluent in English, it will make learning Spanish easier. Convince them immersion is the best way to learn and have them send you to a Spanish speaking country, all expenses paid of course, for a year.
