Technically it's an acronym. NASCAR = National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing

And they're called Stock cars, not nascars. Not that there is anything "stock" about them.

But this is just an English lesson. I could care less. Either way, Enjoy the race!

Agreed and any more, i like to think of it this way. with NASCAR's current rules. every car is highly modified. but each is the same as the next. the only thing that differs is the stickers on the car... so in theory they are STOCK when compared to the next.
