I don't think his prediction was right. He said that BlackBerry would release a new BBOS phone. They are not. What they are doing is making another production run of previously released Bold phones. That's not the same thing.

Huh? The BlackBerry 9720 is a new phone

    Cannot save e-mail attachment

In short: if you get sent a file attachment and do not have a specific app on the device that can open it, you can't save it.

At least that was the traditional restriction.

It's the usual way of Apple treating their users as dumb bunnies who aren't supposed to be able to figure out how to open or do something with data unless the device spoon-feeds it to them.

My mistake. As it was JC saying you can't save an attachment, I naturally assumed it was a reference to BlackBerry. The picture should have been of Jobs or the other clown.

    Thanks for that Omni

jhroland not on an iPhone you can't.
Infact even if you get an email attachment that the device can open you still can't save it.
Your first option and one of your only options unless you have a specific app is to save to is Dropbox - hence not to your device, since there is no file manager anyway.
Also as a side bar you can't reply to an email with an attachment.
So say Omni emails me, and asks for a picture of JC. I'd be inclined to tap the reply button and attach the pic but alas I shall not be able to do this since its not possible either. The only way to do it, is to start a new email and send like that.
    BlackBerry'd!!!!

Actually, you can do this. Reply to the email, press and hold and a popup will appear, one of the options is "insert photo or video"... Thread topic can now resume.

there are work-arounds. Eg: copy initial message, go to adobe reader, send file via e-mail, paste e-mail body, insert e-mail address.
    .. or jailbreak.
    yeah, i know, it's pitty.

This is really an acceptable "work around" for iOS users????? Seriously????

Don't take this as confrontational, but I'm sure it's much the same as sideloading is for us. If it makes the phone we love work the way we need it to, it's worth it.

True I guess... but it just seems like a hassle for a feature that should be native... it shouldn't even really be called a "feature" it should be something that "just is"
