I don't think anyone really takes all that racism stuff seriously anymore. I think we left it all behind in the 80's. And anyway, it is funny because they're not brothers and failing to distinguish people's race is really what all the politically correct bunch have always wanted isn't it? We should ignore race and sexual inclination etc...also, you didn't account for the fact that two people from different countries who may or may not have a different colour can certainly look alike and have comedic gestures and mannerisms in common. a couple of weeks ago I saw a guy who looked just like me with the exception of colour. He looked like me after a couple of weeks in the sun. The resemblance was uncanny yet I guarantee we did not have the same heritage. In fact, whenever I go to Turkey, Tunisia, Portugal or spain, I get the locals coming up to me jabbering in their heathen tongue (joke! And funny just in case you're in the 5% who don't understand humour). I don't mind it but it is a little strange as I'm 75% white British and 25% Colombian so they are way off base. Bottom line, there's only one race: the human race. It's divided into two parts, reasonably intelligent individuals and those who aren't. It's a 50/50 split. You can have joke with the smart guys, you can't with the other bunch.

The problem is that you don't get to decide what's offensive to people of other cultures. Having people just discount your culture because it's "the same" as some other culture feels different when the shoe's on the other foot. You can decide whether or not you will understand why something might be offensive, and also decide if you're going to take that into account when you make your jokes.
