Normally, I wouldn’t ask but since things change, what the heck.

If you have an old Bell plan (so old you got BBM text pictures free)
Do you have to upgrade that plan for a current iPhone to work?

I know that one time Bell told me to get a Priv, I need to upgrade. Turns out, it wasn’t true lol.

But, Apple store said my son needed to change his Bell plan (to like a 3M .. or whatever they said) so pictures would send via text message.
His phone plan was too old.

    TRUE / NOT TRUE ?

He can take pictures via facebook messenger but not by text message. And guy at Apple store couldn't make it work. Said he needed new plan.

(He always had BB and when there was no Priv2 or Motion2, he got iPhone. Not 100% sure he likes the change.)

Why don't you call Bell instead of taking the work of an Apple rep?

    Because they lie, too
    lol

Told me my Priv would not work without updating plan, but it did.

Some older phone plans don't allow for MMS messages or they charge you for each MMS text. Who knows that kind of plan you have. You should see whether your plan is just SMS messages or if it includes MMS.

Well, this is more of Bell question than an iPhone question, then. It sounds as if the plan doesn't include MMS. If you text pics from iPhone to iPhone then you don't need MMS, but if you want to text pics to a non-iPhone you will need MMS.

But the bigger question is will Bell activate a new iPhone on your old plan. They are the only ones probably who can answer that.

    OK, it's probably no.

    It's a cheap plan.

I got my Priv to work. Didn't need an upgrade.

If it worked on the Priv, it would work on an iPhone.

Even though we have dif plans?
His plan is under mine account, but different. They took away my free BBM a long time ago (when they should not have) and he still had it?

Q is, how does he make pix come on text messages without being over Wi-Fi?

if you have different plans, then insert his SIM card in a work phone and try sending a message. Otherwise, call Bell.
