I would miss the ability to just use my berry one and two I would miss bbm and my groups. Plus I don't know if I would feel as connected to all the people and things I need most with out my berry

Everything, this my main communication to the world. We got rid of our landline 3 years ago. I cannot point which feature I would miss the most, because I love them all.
Heck I would miss my blackberry on the whole! One time I turned it on silent and left it in my laptop bag... I turned the whole house upside down for almost 5 hours looking for it!

Not a thing. I never take my phone on vacation (5.5 weeks total. summer 3.5
weeks, two other weeks throughout the year) and quite honestly enjoy the break.
I went two weeks without a blackberry as I used my 3GS as my main device...and honestly, as much as I loved it, I missed EVERYTHING. I had become dependent on the messaging capabilities of the blackberry. As fun as the iPhone is, I felt as if my life was turning upside down. I never realized how organized the blackberry kept everything (the iPhone tried but wasn't living up to it lol). So, I went and bought the 9700 to go along with my 3GS.

Lucky you, im far to addicted to let my phone be set down for an hour to reply to an email concerning work or a bbm concerning work or from one of my family members or cb friends.
It wouldn't be the same...I would freak if I couldn't grab it once I wake up in the morning. Its my lifeline...if I can't connect, I am lost! My berry seriously goes everywhere with me!

My blackberry has my life on it!! With four kids it helps me keep track of everything and also is a constant source of entertainment when I have to wait somewhere.

Here is the thing, when I leave the office for the day I expect to NOT be
bothered unless absolutely necessary. My friends and family know how to
reach me as I have a land line. BBM I don't consider an urgency in most cases
so I get to them when I do. I am on a real computer in my office and at home
so the browser aspect is irrelevant to me. As a multimedia device it is
simply horrid.
As far as the vacation thing goes, the whole point is to get away and enjoy
being with my family. My phone truly matters not compared to them. And
I do enjoy "unplugging" from time to time.
So again, no, I don't constantly check my phone, I do intentionally ignore
alerts if I am doing something I consider even marginally more important
and by no means have to have it in my hand or with me all the time. Like
now for instance, it is in the den (I think), I am upstairs at my desk. If
I go back downstairs I'll grab it, if not, it will be there until I set the
alarm and go to bed.
