What's your 2cents on this? Looks like RIM is a good candiate for a buyout offer from Big Blue. From the news I've read, bIg Blue had formally approached RIM about their enterprise business. Hostile takeover in the horizon?
I can't see RIM ditching their Business division, it just doesn't make sense.
As far as I remember, a hostile takeover would need IBM to hold a large enough number of shares to be able to push it through to a vote, or that the board approves the take-over approach and puts it to the shareholders.
Neither of which is a guaranteed situation at the moment.
