I'm telling you, exercise and moderation, the rest is lies. I still eat junk food and the scary wheat stuff and I'm fit. No more weight.

I can have my cake and eat it too. Best part is unlike the diet pill/powder/whatever scams the weight doesn't suddenly come crashing back when I stop for a while.

Nor do I need FDA approval or have to worry about unknown long term side effects.

Aspartame will degrade your nervous system, it's called Aspartame poisoning and it's real. Don't even talk to me about it, I have had enough of that crap in my life and I'm paying for it now.
If you don't mind me asking; what are some of the issues excess aspartame consumption has caused exactly? Sometimes "scaring" people away from something by sharing the 'bads' it has caused...helps in steering people away from something harmful when they don't know any better.

Ok, first the basics. Aspartame is a combination of 3 ingredients, 2 of which are amino acids (not the good kind) and methanol.

That one is the kicker, methanol. Methanol is a very bad thing for people to ingest but because of the low levels in Aspartame the side effects are usually minimal.

    Now, onto the good part.

Methanol is a real killer, part of it converts to formaldehyde in the body which is a totally different topic in itself. Methanol also actively causes blindness by destroying the optic nerve. There is also another nerve in the brain than directs the heart to beat, and it attacks that too.

I never knew about Aspartame poisoning until about 2 years ago until I started complaining to a coworker about needing to get tests done on my heart, it felt like it would skip a beat or just... pause as it wanted. I told him a couple other things I was feeling and he just said "Aspartame poisoning" as he saw how much pop I would drink, and I am diabetic so I always used things with that chemical in it.

So I go to a diabetic specialist and lay it out, and he did the tests and agreed it was Aspartame poisoning due to a lot of factors. After I almost completely cut it out of my diet my crappy eyes got a little better (not a huge amount, but I was surprised nonetheless) and my chest is doing better but not perfect.

I am in no danger, but I have been told to lay off the stuff now.

So how much is too much? The doc says drinking soda pop, no more than 2 cans a day for anyone, period. Don't use Aspartame gum if you have more than 1 piece a day, so on and so forth. Also be mindful of all the different products you use together throughout the day as you can get a pretty healthy dose as the hours grind on.

Anyhow, long post and a lot more detail could be added, but you get the picture. Aspartame poisoning as it turns out is relatively common and if you really over consume like I did you can cause permanent damage. Most people don't get to the level I have, but I needed to use it as I am not allowed sugar.

Now I just stick with reduced sugar and exercise.

Of course a search on the web could have provided details on what the causes/signs/effects of aspartame poising are; but for the sake of continued discussion..I asked. So your input (from a firsthand point of view is appreciated).

Even slim/fit people that have been slim/fit pretty much all their life (myself included); tend do drink diet drinks a lot...so hearing this is kind of unsettling. This isn't surprising though; because you hear so many people saying that although these chemical-laced drinks and what not; may not be high in calories/carbs..but they make up for that by having chemicals that can majorly affect the body in more harmful ways than a little added weight can.

This stuff is in a lot more foods than you know, in fact it isn't even labeled Aspartame in most things. So everyone is getting a healthy dose every day, gotta love modern science!

It is actually banned in some countries, or banned in certain foods for children. Kinda scary.

i lost 25lbs in 2 months in high school, while still eating whatever i wanted...i'm prolly paying for it later but here's how i did it

your body is a car, with a gas tank....you wanna try to drive 100 miles on 40 miles worth of gas...supplemented with your body fat of course...so between your body weight, and your intake, you're eating less than you're using, but still burning everything

eat at least 5 times a day, small meals, and lots of fruit, veggies....

protein and vitamins are important, so you can replenish the muscles you're using, potassium is important...it's what your body uses to make the chemical reaction in your muscles fire...and stay hydrated...you might be able to squeeze out a few pounds of water weight, but i'd save that for the last day of the event

FYI overnight, without eating drinking, etc...you'll sleep off on average 3-5 lbs, depending on hydration, and when you eat dinner...i don't eat after like 8:30pm when i'm in season...

if i think of other things i'll post 'em

I thought abouth meth haha not seriously but I was telling another person who's in the pool that we should do that but then we decided we'd spend more money than we'd win in the longrun and then we'd prolly lose our jobs, apartments, ect.

I lost 30lbs in roughly two months with 30 minutes of daily exercise on the treadmill and about 1500 calories/day. Depending on your current weight, you can fluctuate the amount of calories per day, but you should never go above 2200 or below 1200-1400 per day.

Losing weight is not as complicated as many people make it out to be. Eat plenty of lean protein (chicken, lean turkey), and plenty of veggies. Keep carbohydrates to 50-100g per day, possibly lower if you want to accelerate fat loss. You should also start lifting weights as well. It's not necessarily about "losing weight" as it is "looking good". You can lose 100 lbs and still look out of shape and scrawny.

When exercising, try to keep your heart rate as high as possible. Many people believe interval training is the most efficient way to lose fat. Basically, you run/sprint for 30 seconds at maximum intensity, and then rest for 1-1:30 minutes. Do this for 15-20 minutes and you will be ready to collapse. Great way to lose fat and build stamina/energy.

    Good luck to you!
