I'm with the victims that Charlie Hebdo cowardly abused for many years. Publications like Charlie Hebdo should not exist.
Freedom has limits, It can't be used to cause harm. If we want freedom without limits then the Islamic extremism would also get it.
Everybody wants to be a victim nowadays. It must be some sort of fashion...
Personally I don't think being caricatured is a form of abuse no matter how distasteful. If "free" people are offended by such a publication, then they need to vote with their feet and not subscribe to it. Gossip, intolerance, prejudice and their friends will continue irrespective. Always have, always will.
Freedom may have its limits, but they lie well into the free zone. Lack of freedom causes a lot of harm too. If we give up our hard earned freedoms, then these extremists don't need to get in: they already have.

Of course you want to give up your freedom and you do it everyday, you're free to do and say whatever you want, but you abstain from hurting people.
There is nothing constructive in those caricatures, they were designed to cause hatred. If someone wants to criticize a religion or a minority, it can be done with good intention, with kindness, with a good argument that could help that group.
The direct cause of the attack is the Hate speech of that magazine, with better legislation this tragedy wouldn't have happened, because that magazine would have been closed years ago.

Sorry baarn, but this is unfortunately disintegrating into something I'm sure you didn't intend. May the French stay strong, and freedom prevail.
