Even though I have yet to receive it, I bought a laptop with part of the money. I got an i3 with a BluRay drive and HDMI output so it can be my TV's BluRay player! Not that I can afford BluRay disks mind you. I plan to use the rest for work around the house.
If you're in NC, your state refunds are... ummm.... delayed, until they have the funds to pay it. Maybe I should consider mine an "investment".
You are correct, my parents said that this happened once to them and they were paid interest on it. I do think it is mildly funny in a way, the state would never accept that you didn't have the money to pay them!
When I get my refund (had to mail in because I bought a house) I plan to put in some laminate flooring, buy a Glock 19 and put the rest in savings.
