I have Lots of apps to fulfill my crackberry needs. Memory on a phone is made to be used, not to just save it. I have exactly 779953 bytes left lol. the only thing I do is delete my messages when ever i really get annoyed seeing them, and clear the internet memory. I have about 20 apps, and they are all useful. So moral of the story, dont save your memory just to compete who has the most free memory. Use it up and compete who has the best app. That will make our blackberry world a better place.

There's a memory OP guide in my sig. Check it out. My BB routinely has over 40 MB free. If it drops below that, I start cleaning out text messages, emails, the event log. If it's not enough, I do a battery pull, and walla, my free space is back over 40 MB. With memory chips so cheap these days, I'm surprised that RIM didn't install 2 GB phone memory. What, it would increase the price by $5.00? I'd gladly pay the extra $5.00 for native 2GB or even a little more for 4GB so we're not scramblin for free space. My .02

22mb on 4.2 OS with third apps Opera Mini, Google Maps, MultiPlay, Berry 411, BBSmart, PacMan, Guitar Hero.

17mb on 4.5 OS with same apps minus Pacman and BBSmart. After a few hours, 6mb. Battery pulls at least twice a day.

You are pulling your battery far too often. It's an acceptable recovery technique when your device is locked up, but should not be used as a preventive maintenance technique. If you need to recover memory, a reset is easier on the device and usually sufficient.

How can I tell how much memory I have left? I don't see anything like a file manager or anything like that. I got a message asking to delete the unused languages (which I did). I have a 2 gig mem card installed and only have a few song on it and a couple images. So8ld it be larger?

    Thanks!

Options / Status / File Free tells you how much device memory you have left. Options / Media Card will show you how much free space is left on your Media card. Note that the resolution of that indicator is 100 MB, so you have to add a lot of content to move it. A 2GB card will show 1.8GB Total Space, due to formatting. BlackBerries cannot use the Media card space as application memory, so the Media Card does not add to your File Free amount.

OK, so I have 29,976,423 as a file free.
But When I went into options, there nothing there about the media card, though. Wonder why...

    Thanks!

Do you have Media Card Support turned on? If you do, and don't see the card capacity, then try formatting it in the device. Format is an option on the Menu.

I've got mine at 14843380 Bytes right now and I keep mine to the bare minimum for apps. My only luxury is a theme and both google and BlackBerry maps.

Thanks. (Media support is turned on) I'll try formatting it tonight. I want to copy the content of the card to a my PC first.

    Thanks!

Before you reformat the card, try removing it and reseating it. Can you not see the card with Media / Explore?
