That's the normal amount of free space on a new, formatted 2Gb card. This thread is asking for your device File Free amount. You can get it from Options/Status/File Free.

Not necessarily any smarter, but probably more experienced. Your blackberry is low on free memory. Any time "File Free" drops below 10 000 000 bytes, the phone will start deleting call logs and text messages without warning to free up memory. Text messages may be deleted as soon as they arrive, before you have had time to read them.

A battery pull recovers memory and will alleviate the problem temporarily. The solution is to remove the stuff you don't need (the sample video, wallpaper, themes, other languages, brickbreaker, etc.) from the device's memory. Crackberry Master Stoner developed this procedure to guide you:

    http://forums.crackberry.com/f3/how-...-memory-34633/
Be sure to put pictures, videos, music, and ringtones on your Media Card, not in your device's memory. Also, keep in mind that Media Card memory is not device memory. You have to keep your device memory well above 10 000 000 bytes, regardless of the capacity of your Media Card or how much free space it has.

Greenlove: That's on the low end of acceptable. If you add an app or two, you'll be in trouble. If you haven't already done so, you should perform the Stoner procedure I posted above.

See Post #3 in Stoner's procedure, referenced above. You have to have your device OS installed on your PC to remove PTT.

That's the single most difficult and most important step in the procedure. Once you get that, you can do anything. We can help you. Where did you get lost?

Thanks to Stoner's Tips I've now got over 18.5 free on my 8130 and my berry didn't turn into a brick.

Deleted the Video, Brickbreaker, Help, 3 themes, VAD, BB maps, BB Messenger, and the extra languages.

    Am running,
    Google Maps
    Google Sync
    Viigo - Tango
BB Smart (may delete if not needed after OS 4.5 appears)
    Worldmate Live
    MaraTick
    And shortcuts:
    CB (of course)
    Picasa
    NPR
    CNN
    Askmenow

    Thnx again.

You definitely need to either delete some apps or revert back to 4.2 for space. I think you will receive at least 10mb back if you revert.

If you aren't using Docs2Go, install .44 and no need for Docs2Go.
