Osupike18: it may look like more, but you do not have sufficient free memory. I can't send the link from WAP, but if you search the forum for 'optimize memory' you will find the procedure you need to follow.

You know, it would be way cool if someone would develop a simple little app that would send you a text message / alarm when your Free Memory drops below a given point.
JeffH: I have seen the threads, I just haven't had time to remove themes, remove AT&T's PTT (I will probably never use it), and the other memory clean up items. I have not had memory issues such as having deleted messages, emails or call logs. Thanks for the heads up. I will update probably this weekend when I have time or when I can put down my 8310 long enough to put its memory on a diet.

Well I just updated to App Version 4.2.2.194 (351) and did John Clark's maximum memory tutorial and now it says total File Free: 28049836 so if i convert this right that is close to 26.7 MB which would be about 19 MBs more than I had had when I last posted my memory.
Excellent! Glad you found the procedure and it worked for you. And you're correct in your megabyte math, although most people here just divide by 1 000 000. You'll be in good shape now.

Reason: added memory comment
Just cleaned up my Pearl last night (figured out how to delete voice dialing and preinstalled wallpapers WITHOUT bricking my phone like I usually do) so I'm at about 20mb.
Is there more stuff I can delete? I was thinking some themes but which ones can go? Right now I'm using BB Dimension L...
I'm at 27 MB. Got Facebook, Google Maps, Google Sync, Opera Mini, BBWeather, Beyond411, ESPN Mobile & Viigo runs all day everyday with about 20 channels.
I have stripped my berry down though. Removed voice dialing, all themes except for AT&Tm BB Zen and a very lightweight one I made for myself, PTT, password keeper, BB Maps (use Google Maps instead), wallpapers, etc.
My berry runs smooth as can be. I will notice sometimes it will drop to about 17 MB. After a reset, I get back up around 27 or 28. I don't know why but that's just the way it is.
Guys, don't forget to clear your event log every once in a while to get some more memory. ALT LGLG from the home screen. Menu -> Clear Log
let me check here..i have around 24-25....installed:
I have
google maps
jivetalk
weather eye
starry night
crackberry launcher
empower pro
gpsed
blackberry wallet
today plus theme
soft reset
blackberry alerts
pinstack launcher
bb messenger
Currently I have about 30 mb free and installed I have:
BB Mess
Facebook
CNN
ESPN
Viigo (not sure how I feel about it)
All preloaded themes + iberry theme
GMail
Google Maps
5 wallpapers + preloaded ones [will delete once my Mac comes back from being repaired ]
Opera Mini
Brickbreaker (prob deleting)
I usually have 14.3 mb on mine. I do need to get rid of the prei-loaded wallpapers and junk like that.

It helps so much! The process is really simple if you read carefully and follow the steps. Plus, why do you need all that junk lying around when you never even use it?
