Have to agree with you totally. Can't put a price on the joy it gives.
And like you said, some people might say it's too expensive but spend it on something else.
Mine will be €22,50 for voice and €20 or €40 for data. (haven't decided which plan to take yet)
I tell people all the time that I have less use for a blackberry than anyone I know--I don't run a business, I don't NEED to keep up on my email, I don't NEED instant access to the net.....and yet--I absolutely ADORE mine, and much like the NRA advocates, they will have to pry mine from my cold dead fingers! LOL
My 7100g ws $200 w/cingular. My 7130e ws $150 on ebay w vzw. I have 4000 min 79.99, unlimited data 44.99, unlimited text, 19.99. Its worth every penny. It relaxes me, and when I c that red light flash n feel tha vibration, its like bein n vegas or atlantic city n hittin tha jackpot!!

I love my blackberry but I wish the plan was a little less. I pay 39.99 for the sprint bb plan. That is more then I pay for comcast cable internet. Oh well, I'm addicted

I paid $149 for my beloved Pearl with the two year, T-Mob contract.
But that's chump change next to the $349 I would have wasted...er...paid for the HTC Wing. Fortunately I returned that hunk of junk a few days later. Better phone + cheaper data plan = WINNER.
My husband and I pay $199 for 2100 minutes, unlimted data and 250 text messages. He has a treo but will get a BB next week--yahoo. I have an 8830 which cost me $299 with rebate/discount. Worth every single penny!
This addiction is expensive alright! I think mine came up really expensive because I just don't stop once I get the device. I get accessories for it. For my 8700g, I have about 14+ difference holsters and cases (all colors and styles of OEMs + Covertecs + more), Stowaway Shasta Bluetooth Keyboard, Garmin Mobile 10x GPS with 1 year subscription, Bluetooth Headsets (Nokia BH-800, Nokia BH-700, Motorola miniBlue H9, Plantronics Discovery 645, Discovery 655) and looking to use the BlueAnt Z9 in a few week or two (it will br available soon), OEM Extended Batteries.. chargers, car kits... LOL.. takes long to itemize them. I am just crazy about accessories, can you not tell?
all of this was at AT&T/Cingular with 2 yr contract and military discount....
BB8800 $250 w/$50 rebate - activation waived
BB8100 $150 w/$100 rebate - activation waived
monthly plan.....
$50 for 550 shared minutes (unlimited M2M minutes)
$60 for BB connect and unlimited text messages
misc taxes, fees, etc...
Welcome to the forum JamDiver! Listen any amount of money is so worth it if you utilize all that the blackberry can do. You cannot put a price on having a device that brings you joy and has so many benefits of owning one, as I am sure you know.
I bought every accessory for the 8703e and thensome. Like three travel chargers, 3 batteries, 3 cases, 3 different headsets etc.... I like to have extra stuff because I travel quite a bit for business and if I lose any accessory, I know I have backup at home.
I agree with Gia about having extra stuff for your BB. My husband travels and we keep a bag stocked with the coffee pot, phone charger, etc.. He has everything he needs when its time to go.
$200 second hand several months ago on craigslist. Tmo couldn't get it to me for any less than $369 at the time, I'm a long time customer so no "new customer" deals and the upgrade discount wasn't much of one. Worth every penny, though.
