Don't know much about Scotland in general, but I visited Edinburgh a few times for work- one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen in my life. And good drinks!

Loved my visit to Scotland. It is in a fight for 1st/2nd with Iceland of my top places to visit.
Going to do it again in a few yrs and really take some leisure time. Did not get to see enough castles. Or distilleries.

I'd love to visit Scotland. I want to see the hills and valleys ....or is the proper term highlands? Please forgive my ignorance.

We have mountains and glens rather than hills and valleys

Scotland is truly beautiful. Sadly, it's full of Scots, and that does mar it somewhat...

Move from England to Scotland what a beautiful place, been here for 8 years. What back to England to see my parents couldn't wait to get back to the rolling hills and views.

If you make it to Edinburgh, hit up a bar on Rose st. called The Kenilworth. Had a total blast there. Only place I found that served rye in the city.

I'm in Aberdeen right now and I must say it's pretty awesome. People are friendly and maybe because I'm not local so they don't talk to me with the weird accent that everybody was describing... lucky me

I was in Aberdeen a few years ago for an academic conference. It was in July and it was cold, windy, and rainy. "Granite City" indeed! But for some perverse reason I liked it.

A couple of years ago the same conference was in Stirling. I loved it. The castle was terrific and the history was powerful. After the conference my wife and I spent most of a week in Edinburgh. It's a great city but I enjoyed Stirling Castle more than Edinburgh Castle. I brought my tin whistle and went to a session at The Canon's Gait, in Canon Gate. I didn't know much of the music but had a blast.

    Next time over, Glasgow.

I've seen a haggis made twice. Definitely a culinary adventure worth having.
