Yeah, I had this situation the other day when I was in a restaurant. I was in the middle of typing a message and some stranger came up and asked to make a call.
I was trying to come up with a reason why not, but I ended up letting him (watching very closely >.>). One thing I usually do when someone wants to make a call with my phone, ask them for the number, dial *67, then the number, so that the other person on the line doesn't have your number.
people will ask to borrow mine just to look at it cuz they think its cool. i usually say that im texting someone and they can later then make a point to be busy on it whenever im around them
yea i wouldnt either - not because theyre not careful with it but because my email and other personal apps are on there now
It seems to be the consensus - hands off if your not blood or close friend. I havent had anyone abuse any of my other phones, but when asked to borrow my Storm... I find myself extremely hesitant - then start asking intrusive questions as to why they need it (who you callin, for what, how long will it take, etc.) I havent had to loan it out as of yet - lol
Nope no 1 touches mine not even the wife...;)

So while I think I have posted on this thread b4 but I finally let a stranger use my phone. The funny part was while nothing bad happened all I could think about was this thread and all the bad things that might happen.

i hate when people ask. i feel like theyre gonna run away with it.
LOL. I feel the same way! That's why I let no one use my phones!!!
Before my BB, I had a LG enV, and I wouldn't let anyone touch that - and now, unless its my boyfriend or mom, if someone even LOOKS at me with the 'can I use your phone' look or has that sparkle of 'oh, I want to see', I scream back the f**k off! :) but that's just me !!

LOL, I'm laughing so hard my sides hurt!!! Oh man I'm crying too! Lol, that is so good, I want someone to ask me right now so I can try it, wait I might just end up laughing in their face.
I'm never going to let anyone use my BB. :)

Yeah general rule of thumb, when it comes to my phone, you no touch! :D lol other people just brake things
no one is allowed to touch, and if they ask to see i show them and if they reach for it i say see with you eyes not with your hands
Only two people have been able to handle my BB...
My GF - she had a decent reason sje wanted to play brickbreaker

I tell people I dont have a phone or that it's running low on battery.
I'm on the train now and a lady just asked me to use my STORM. I said ok since I knew she can't run from me in heels. She took one look at it and gave it back cuz she didn't know what to do with it. Lmao. As far as anyone else lookin to use my phone, ummm, nah sir. "my battery is dying, sorry"

I am a big meanie cause NO one touches my berry but me.
So, a really hot server at my favorite local breastaurant asked to borrow my Storm to show a friend a picture that was on it...
Seeing as I was lacking complete blood-flow to my brain, I said yes.
Damned if she didn't drop it. On the concrete. Of course, on the 5% of the phone not covered by Invisible Shield...
Now my baby has a blemish. (And I no longer think this particular girl is all that hot...)
It is amazing to me that someone could damage an expensive piece of electronics and not believe they have any responsibility to pay for a repair or a replacement. Where have character and manners gone?

Bottom line is that I do not trust anyone who does not have a cell phone in 2009. But I don't even let my girlfriend use my phone mainly because I have emails she doesn't want to see but also because she is a klutz.

Family and friends sure, random people **** no!!! Get your own BB.
Nope. Not unless you're a friend, and even then you better be standing in my direct line of sight.
None of this disappearing around a corner for 15 minutes. (Well, probably more like 5 - it just seems longer when I don't have my BB attached to my hip).
And yeah - I've already seen how careless other people are with their own things - nevermind someone elses... Doesn't exactly instill confidence.
Best one was a friend who lent her phone (thankfully a "dumbphone" but still could have been a BB) to another friend of hers, so he could call his girlfriend.
Steps outside the bar (oh, a bar story - this should be good!) and promptly gets into a raging arguement - ends with nutbag whipping the phone off the windsheild of a nearby parked car, phone deflects and deposits itself into the middle of the street to commit suicide of the crushing-by-passing-truck variety.
Niice.
Did buy her a new phone, but that's not the point, now is it.
