    Hi folks;

I just want to let you know about WorldCommunityGrid.org and grid computing. You know, there is still "no" cure for some diseases such as AIDS, cancer, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis etc.. Scientists needs huge amount of calculations to understand these diseases and to find out new treatments.

You can contribute with your unused CPU power to these calculations. Till today over 2 quadrillion (2.000 x mathematical process have been made for AIDS and it equals more than 23.640 years run time with over 500.000 contributors from all over the world.

All you have to do is to become a member of WorldCommunityGrid.org and install a small program which is gonna work in background and doing mathematical process in order to help humanity, scientists, to find cures for diseases.

We all have computers and computers idle on most of time.. Why not to use them for something useful when we don't need theirs full of CPU power.. Please, don't waste your own CPU's power.

To Crackberry.com Admins: Isn't it a good idea to build a team on WorldCommunityGrid.org and encourage crackberry.com members to contribute this wonderful project for changing the world?

You can take a look what WCG says at its homepage below

World Community Grid brings together people from across the globe who donate their idle computer time to create the largest volunteer computing grid benefiting humanity. Our work is built on the belief that technological innovation combined with visionary scientific research and large-scale volunteerism can help make the planet smarter. Our success depends on individuals - like you - collectively contributing their unused computer time to this not-for-profit endeavor.

If you're just checking your email and your friends pictures on Facebook, your computer is not using most of its power. While you're doing your normal computer stuff, your computer could also be contributing to important not-for-profit scientific research solving global problems like :

    Computing for Clean Water
The Clean Energy Project - Phase 2
Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy - Phase 2
    Help Fight Childhood Cancer
    Help Conquer Cancer
Human Proteome Folding - Phase 2
It's simple, secure, and you can contribute for free.

    How Grid Computing Works

    Grid Computing: The Basics
Grid computing joins together many individual computers, creating a large system with massive computational power that far surpasses the power of a handful of supercomputers. Because the work is split into small pieces that can be processed simultaneously, research time is reduced from years to months. The technology is also more cost-effective, enabling better use of critical funds.

    Changing Our World Now
Grid computing is not a futuristic technology. World Community Grid is at work right now applying this technology to exciting research projects that can benefit us all.

Our first project, Human Proteome Folding, is identifying the proteins produced by human genes. With this information, scientists can understand how defects in proteins can cause disease, making it easier to find cures.

In 2003, with grid computing, in less than three months scientists identified 44 potential treatments to fight the deadly smallpox disease. Without the grid, the work would have taken more than one year to complete.
