It was 10 years tonight, I had the pager and Y2K was progressing through the time zones. If our systems were impacted, I had 4 hours to deal with it or the issue would escalate to management.... at 4:00 AM.
Fortunatly, we had down our job right, it never went off.

Ahh good memories. We'd been evaluating, planning, developing, and implementing for a full year prior to 1.1.0. When all was said and down though, I had my pager, 2-way, and phone on my belt and joined our New Year's party at about 11:57 pm (I worked for a casino at the time, and New Year's is always a great excuse for a party.) I remember holding my breath as the ball dropped and... nothing happened. Then nothing continued to happen. After about 20 minutes of nothing happening I smiled and helped myself to the champagne
