George Carlin, who died of heart failure Sunday at 71, leaves behind not only a series of memorable routines, but a legal legacy: His most celebrated monologue, a frantic, informed riff on those infamous seven words, led to a Supreme Court decision on broadcasting offensive language.

That sucks, he was an awesome comedian.

Get on the plane, get on the plane... I say "f*ck you, I'm getting IN the plane, let Evil Knievel get ON the plane!"

This is a sad day in my eyes. He was a genius in the comedian world, one of my absolute favorites. RIP Carlin i know many will miss him.

Did anyone else see the CNN tribute to him with Bob Maher? Good stuff all around. I thought it was funny when they brought up the stuff about talking good about the dead, quite ironic for a sort of eulogy I suppose.
