Wow! This sure is an interesting topic, tho the discussion sort of lags in good discussion and just grown-up respect. I grew up on the beach in the heart of the `60s scene and have taught human sexuality at the graduate level. Don't qualify as prude by anyone's definition.

I almost didn't care about the post. It did surprise me. Do I know there is everything you can think of and more on the Internet. Um, yah. Different workshop. Do I think people have a right to porn and to express their opinions about it? Yah. Different workshop.

This is what I think I was reacting to most. I was a lurker forever and haven't been a member here nearly as long as a lot of you, but I sure love it. As mentioned, I have watched this site grow and mature along with Kevin and the rest. Who would have guessed it could be this huge, important and great? I confess to being addicted. The thing is, that Kevin has put in a lot of effort to up his game and put a more professional image out there. Think about King Thor making a call to CrackBerry Kevin as one of his first acts as CEO of RIM! Think about CB being taken seriously enough that they get review devices, get interviewed, and only ONE person got their ponytail cut at the BB10 launch LOL! Think about the fact we know BlackBerry employees hang out here and care about what we think and want (i.e. Q10).

I refer adolescents and executives to this site constantly. I do it because it is an authoritative source for all things BlackBerry. Also because I trust it. I don't think Blaze needs to hide in shame. I just think this is an important discussion for Kevin and the crew about where they are going image-wise. What they put out there on the front page. We all know there are tons of off-topic threads on CB, but you have to go looking for those. CB, however, may not see this the way I see it. And, bottom line, it is their site.

I respect that the article didn't bother a lot of you. It bothered me, and didn't fit with where I thought CB was going. It caused me to rethink how freely I refer others to the site. Just my opinion. And as pointed our so ineloquently, if this site and I grow too far apart at some point I can choose to leave. I would sure miss it, though. My experience of the vast majority of CrackBerry Nation is a respectful, generous people always ready to share their knowledge and provide help. I don't even think it is possible for CB to meet everyone's views and standards. It would lose its flavor even if it could, and that would be sad. Maybe this discussion will simply serve for a little more sense of direction at the core is all. Hopefully it won't draw anymore kids from the seventh grade cafeterial flinging Jello at the OP. Yikes! That really doesn't fit with CB, either. Thanks, OP. I don't totally agree with you, but I found your post to be not only thoughtful and respectful, but an important one in my view.

How many of those mothers do you think will find that picture appropriate? My guess - NONE.

[edit for clarification - how many mother's do you think will find that picture appropriate for their 13 or 14 year old sons.... - I've just shown the original article/picture to two mothers who bought tablets for a) 12 year old daughter, b) 13 year old son, and neither were at all impressed by a) the original article, & b) the fact that I had recommended CrackBerry to them and their families. It is the picture that has offended them]
Sometimes I'm amazed at the posts some will forever attach themselves to here...
    I call BS....
    1) You "guess" that "NONE" of the adult women you would show the picture to would find it appropriate.
But that is the same picture that you choose to show them???

    2) You ask how many mothers would find that picture appropriate for their 13 or 14 year old sons, or even a 12 year old daughter.
But again, that is the same picture that you choose to show them???

    3) You say that they were not all impressed by a) the original article, & b) the fact that I had recommended CrackBerry to them and their families.
But for the third instance again, that is the same picture that you choose to show them???

Out of the thousands of articles with pictures here, that is the one you chose to show mothers purchasing a PlayBook for their children???

Given the clientele you claim you want to protect, it seems weird to me that you would even think to recommend such an app to hide files in the first place????
What use or need did you think these young kids would have for an application to hide files???
Hide files from who? Their own mothers? Who incidentally purchased a PlayBook for them in the first place?
It's not like you said... Check out CrackBerry for helpful information...
You stated that you specifically "shown the original article/picture to two mothers"...

Me, I would first recommend some learning applications, games, or even social networking applications.
What you chose to "show off" would not be my first choice of application, article, or picture to present.
But that's just me and how I roll...

Lets keep this going . Everyone post a piece of whats hidden lol. just kidding , nobody post
The article was not bad but the pic with someone biting the cookie mans crotch was way out of line.

Also the folks posting their sexual preference/desires and BBM contacts is not needed as well.

CB needs to think of the underage visitors and what legal damage could be done should an adult lure a minor via these forums.

This I have pointed out before just to be penalized for it.

It will happen and its time something is done about it

The ability to hide your porn now requires an app on BlackBerry 10 | CrackBerry.com

Yeah, well I've been told to lighten up with respect to my comment about this post. Here's the thing...I can't. This site is frequented by people of different races, creeds, religions, ages, and sensibilities. I've been on this site for quite a few years and seen a lot of edgy stuff and really appreciate it but this is over the top and I want the site admins to take it down and apologize. I've watched this site grow over the years to a one-stop fountain of knowledge about all things BlackBerry. It's also a place where, with few exceptions, people are respectful of one anothers' opinions even when they disagree.

Part of having certain standards is making a stand. You see, it's part of the word itself, isn't it? This site has to reach for a higher standard than it did in its early days because its reaching a larger audience than it did back in the day.

So, It offends me, yes. Does it make me a prude? I don't think so. I'm writing this because I care.
I'm actually more offended by your plumbers @ss avatar than I am with the article by Bla1ze! Nothing worse to view than male-plumbers-@ss...

Imagine what pure innocent mommy will do when she finds out what her kids have already been up to with their friends.

Sex. It's the end of civilization. Well it will be when the puritans protect their kids into fearing it and no one does it anymore.

It's a perfectly natural thing and I'd be willing to bet that there's very few posters here who haven't done exactly what's in that picture minus the cookie.

I also question anyone who is so up in arms because they recommended this site to families but it's this picture that's the problem and in spite of knowing about the BBM meet up threads. Those are far more risqu than that picture.

    Yeah I noticed that.

Look, my husband and I watch porn and laugh at the absurdity of the situations. Heaven forbid people enjoy sex. We have gun threads where people get all juicy over their latest weapon procurement but 2 women one cookie is offensive? :banghead:

I hate guns. Guess what? I avoid those posts.

You know what's funny, some parent will probably blame the post because their kid got pregnant or got someone pregnant. The post to hide the porn on your phone made my child do the actual and it's their fault, they made them do it. Grow up people, hard to tell ya, this is life and kids know more about this than we ever wanna know. So take your panties a few notches and enjoy the gingerbread cookies, sorry fresh outta milk
