If the word porn is so offensive to a small segment of the membership, perhaps we need to develop a new word for it so not to offend those with delicate sensibilities (and probably a collection of porn full of stuff so out there it would make Ron Jeremy squeamish....). Or better still, if the word offends you, install one of those filtering programs so that you never have to see the word again as any page with that word on it will be blocked...

I find that most people who are "offended" usually voice their opinions about it to simply get attention. As adults most of us see things we do not like every single day and do not say a word about it, but on the internet you have the ability to gain attention without the face to face confrontation you would get in "real life".

Yeah, well I've been told to lighten up with respect to my comment about this post. Here's the thing...I can't. This site is frequented by people of different races, creeds, religions, ages, and sensibilities. I've been on this site for quite a few years and seen a lot of edgy stuff and really appreciate it but this is over the top and I want the site admins to take it down and apologize. I've watched this site grow over the years to a one-stop fountain of knowledge about all things BlackBerry. It's also a place where, with few exceptions, people are respectful of one anothers' opinions even when they disagree.

Part of having certain standards is making a stand. You see, it's part of the word itself, isn't it? This site has to reach for a higher standard than it did in its early days because its reaching a larger audience than it did back in the day.

So, It offends me, yes. Does it make me a prude? I don't think so. I'm writing this because I care.

You get no sympathy from me whatsoever. You're part of the "I'm offended" subculture that brought that poison called political correctness into our society.

I am *not* an in-your-face moralist or a religious zealot.

The reason I decided to follow Crackberry was because of the great support and offerings of all BlacBerry news and ideas. I've been enjoying the writing of the staff and the positive and thoughtful comments from the forums. I chose to simply pass over and ignore the negative comments. I cannot, however, overlook the apparent approval and encouragement of porn. It seems to me that you need to decide what level of professionalism you want to be identified with. We all have the right to make our own lifestyle choices but we do not have the right to impose them on others. I truly hope you will decide to be sensitive to all of your followers.

I didn't see anything in the blog post that "encouraged" porn. Acknowledged, for sure, and acknowledged that the way for maintaining discretion had changed with BB10. What would you say was "imposed"?

What is it specifically that you didn't like? The use of the word porn or the.discussion of hidden files, or the use of a file hiding feature to potentially hide inappropriate content from those that shouldn't see it?

Or do you think that porn shouldn't exist at all? It's not clear exactly what you are objecting to and thus it makes it difficult to attack the post.

Help us out here, what is the problem?

I could agree but it's a useful tool. The humor comes from it being porn. It doesn't have to be porn you are hiding. Could be much more. Private info so on. Like this guy says, if you're on the net you've seen worse.
