you missed a word when trying to correct me, there shouldn't be single quotes around the words jump off of a bridge now, it should be double quotes as i was the one saying it too you... the sentence we have supporters now, that is wrong as it should be we now have supporters(your a grammar specialist you should know that though) i could keep going ....

Sure it's not really my place to correct anyone but seriously, wouldn't you want to improve yourself if you could? People will judge you by how well you can communicate. That's not bad, it's just fact. I am a product of Public schooling and I am not well educated. But I do care about how I present myself in any communications. It is curious and disturbing that so many are willing to abandon the fundamentals of our language for convenience. I say they are LAZY and SLOPPY!!

I had a friend growing up who is completely deaf. Obviously we used sign to communicate. What wasn't obvious was he used the same shortcuts and slang (yes we had sign-slang) when writing. Not only did he not recognize when the slang was appropriate and when it was not, he actually didn't know the difference.

My hackles go up with the chat language because I think the same thing is going to slowly degrade our real language.

To me it's poetic that most of the people replying to me (in a thread I started complaining that too many people are calling others 'stupid' for absolutely no reason) can't spell correctly.

You're comments have been very helpful and / or funny. Thanks for contributing to our un/happy thread. And thanks for reading the whole thing. From your feedback it sounds like you read the whole thing and took valuable time out of your very busy day to consider the posts, and offer up some really thoughtful, constructive criticism. And it was really funny to boot. Did I just say 'to boot'. Wow, I do need to go do some work.
