I totally understand that POV. I was too young to see it in the theatres. But that was the first video version I saw of it. The VO isn't bad. The melancholy is cranked up without it though.
I also like the fact that they clipped the happy ending out in later versions. But hey, this is a movie that is open to WIDE interpretation. That is why it is the best movie the 80s coughed up.
I feel ya on season 5. And as for the Kenard thing, as Senator Clay Davis would say "Shhhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiiiiiiitttttttt"
But HBO has owned me on Sunday night.
The Wire
The Corner
Rome
The Sopranos
Deadwood, etc
Generation Kill looks interesting and I'm actually forward to it.
I LOVED Rome and The Corner. Oh, The Corner, that was real. My mom tried to get me into the Wire, but then Comcast got crazy with how much they wanted for premium channels and I cancelled it. The Wire is on my NetFlix list, though!
I have to think about my favorite movie, but favorite show would be FAMILY GUY! Dr.: give ME a 40 and I could recite those lines ALL day.
" I visited your home this morning after you'd left. I tried to play husband. I tried to taste the life of a simple man. It didn't work out, so I took a souvenir... her pretty head. "
Daddy and Doc you're friggin killin' me over here
Dr Strangelove, Se7en, The Usual Suspects, Fight Club, The Good The Bad and the Ugly, all great films. So much for having this thing on lock.
But for Westerns: how about the original 3:10 to Yuma
Prison: Bound by Honor (Horale)
