    The End of an Era

I'm not saying I hate the guy - although I did recently for his whole fiasco with the Vikes - but it is about damned time this guy is out of football and now we can focus on the REAL sport and not the BS he brought to the game, including excessive media coverage.

Sad to say for MN fans, who knows how many nationally covered games you guys got next year (I'm leaning toward none) - not like anyone cares...

    Good riddance

It's been time. You spelled his name wrong. It's Favre and should be pronounced Fav-ra, or Fav-er.

He was pretty good last year...

I'm a Bears fan, so I hate the guy, but I respect what he did, I respect his love for the game, and I was really rooting for him to make it to 300 starts.....

    He'll be missed...

i'm glad that self-centered, media wh0re is done! if he doesn't try to come back to finish the season, what does that really say about him? did he love the game or did he love the attention the game brought him? i used to like the guy but he's the reason i no longer eat waffles!

I think he should send a text message out to everyone of a picture of a note that says "i quit" and really do it this time.

I wonder how long it'll take for the media to start with all the "he's about to break the records" for Payton Manning now...

Lol, I did spell his name wrong, my fingers are dyslexic

I'm glad I wasn't the only one breathing a sigh of relief....not that he wasn't a great QB, it was time he'd lay down his pads and succumb to the wounds of football...

Watching the Favre Return From Retirement dance was like watching a cultural icon who's peed themself and doesn't know it.

Great QB in his prime but over-stayed his welcome too long! Should have retired a Packer

He's going to play Monday night against the Bears, probably beat them too the way they are headed. Hard to be a Bears fan the past few years.

As a life long Wisconsinite and Packer fan, it is time for him to retire. The BS he has pulled over the last few years is ridiculous. He should have retired when he retired the first time. I don't care if he retires a Packer or not, I'd rather him not. That will be our middle finger to him!

He will play one more game to give him the all time career starts he currently shares with Moon and Testaverde. It will be funny when he retires a Viking as a middle finger to the Packers!

It is time for Brett to retire FOR REAL! Given the he's been whacked by LB's and DB's since the NFC championship game last year, his body is screaming to his brain "enough is enough". Let him do broadcasting ala Don Meredith--RIP--or coaching. Just chill out in Kiln and wait for your yellow Hall of Fame jacket Brett, your body will thank you!
