I've not used the BIS site. I handle my service books from the email setup on my phone. I'm not sure if there is a difference. Maybe making the request from the phone will identify the OS version.

You might also want to check your email account settings to make sure that they transferred correctly.
I sent the service books from my device. No change yet.
Where do I go to check email account settings? I can't find anything on os6!
and nothing would have transferred because I did a selective restore and only moved a few items.

Open the Setup wizard on the ALL tray. Click on EMAIL ACCOUNT SETTINGS. If you shrunk out the Setup wizard, you'll have to put it back before you can manage any of this from your phone. You can probably do that with BBSAK.

    Thank you again Underway!
I did NOT shrink the setup wizard out so I went there and checked the accounts (which I did from the web earlier). I guess I needed to put in my password again because that's all I did and now everything works. Strange...it never asked for a password but when I went to the website, it was missing and I assumed it was cached or whatever.

Needless to say...I am a very happy camper and you can be sure that the next person who complains about these things will have me to help them. I will pass the knowledge along!

    Thanks again!

Good to hear that it worked. I kind of figured that it might be an account configuration issue, since you were able to receive email.

I've found that I don't learn nearly as much by just exploring the menus and such as I do when I need to fix something. I've learned more by screwing something up and spending the time to fix it than I care to admit. You know, that "learn by doing (or undoing)" style of learning. My number two source has been these forums. I can't tell you how many times I've shared someone else's issue.

I'm glad that you're happy with OS6. Now if we could only get some themes...

JayDee, I have had to do that several times over my BB life. I think all of them were related to upgrades, not sure. Didn't happen with the BB6 upgrades for me, but one never knows. As I was reading the posts above I was about to send you a post suggesting that but you had already got it done.

As I think about it, I believe that you may have been the one that told me to do that when I was having a problem right after we got our Baby Bolds. Anyway, glad that you got it fixed.

Bob, yes I have it all installed and working for me. I have had a chance to look around and I think I will be okay with the whole OS6 thing.

Only problem I have is a terrible fast memory leak from some app or another. Can't tell which it might be as I installed them pretty nuch one after the other last night at 11 pm and never quit till 1 am. I also added a few more this am so I am unsure which to delete in hopes of finding the culprit. All I can see is about a change of 14MB in two-three hours. Too fast of a leak, if you ask me!!!

Good think reboots only take about 2.5 minutes. I can do that two or three times a day to recover the memory. If I leave it all day...not sure if it will stop there or keep going. It got down as far as 19MB before I said Whoa!!!

Any ideas? I'd be open to suggestions.

Thanks again for the help. Maybe Jim has an idea.

JayDee, that is really strange. I just looked at my baby and I've lost 2MB since last reboot which was 2d 19h 50m. I'd say that is more than adequate for holding memory.

There is an option in MeterBerry to recover memory houly when idle, do you have that checked? Mine is and maybe if I have a leak it is being recovered unbeknownst to me. If it is I guess I'm OK with it since it is not causing any problems.

This is the first I have heard of random reboots on .333. Wonder if you have something hosed on your device?

What does the Recover Memory thing do in MeterBerry? Does it impact phone availability for a time? For instance, would it be unusable while the recovery is being done? What are the drawbacks of having it recover memory periodically?

If there are any issues with it, I'm not aware of them. I can't even say that I know its working since I don't monitor the phone for lost memmory all that often. It certainly has not done anything that makes me aware of its doing it.

I rarely check my memory, but when I do it's always the same 272mb with this 6/333 os. I doubt then I have any type of leak at all. I do have a scheduled reboot daily first thing in the morning. I may be lucky then as I never seem to have any issues. I'm certainly not complaining. I run the same ten or so apps I always have.
JayDee, if I were having your experience with leaking memory I'd just backtrack. You said you installed a few apps since the upgrade? OK, then that is where to look logically for any leak issue. If the apps you reloaded after the 6 install were fine before then they should be fine now, so look to the newly installed ones, at least thats where I'd be looking. I'm glad you finally plunged in with the rest of us.

Same here. My free memory rarely changes unexpectedly. Memory management seems a lot better with .333 than with any of the earlier OS6 leaks. I lose almost nothing. However, like many folks, I have MeterBerry reclaim memory hourly, so I don't see any large leaks. I review my memory logs, though, and I don't see any leakage.

The only memory issue I've had with the new .333 is from the FB 1.9 beta. I wiped and reloaded (for another reason), and grabbed the FB again OTA. No problems since then, so I think it may have been the FB install.

Well then, i have set Meterberry to recover the memory hourly and I imagine it will. Someone asked if it would stall the phone or cause a problem, I think it does it behind the scenes and you don't even notice it. Pete, was it you? I have set mine that way so now I will see what is used and what isn't.

I have talked to someone in the "know" can't say exactly whom, who insists that another incarnation, the one that is out for 9330 now, will be ours sooner rather than later. Maybe it will manage memory more efficiently.

I also talked to a friend who had the SAME FONT PROBLEM as I did after my install. HAHA. If I had known it was an issue, I would have saved myself countless hours and just kept the damn thing, instead of wiping and reinstalling three times! I am going now to post in the finding and fixes thread about my font so maybe it will help someone else....

My fonts have returned to normal except for the email. Still a bit large if I set it for anything higher than 9...which I need to go to 10 at least. But I can deal with it so whatever.

Now, to make backups of my phone so I have some kind of reliable backup.

I don't get the FB app. I'm not a big FB guy anyway and don't visit there often,(rarely) but when I do(kick myself) I just access thru the link I keep in my browser bookmarks. I can do the same as any other as far as responding or posting there. Never have had any issues that way. Bottom line for me personally tho is FB being borderline ridiculous. OMG! So and so changed there pic.OMG! (must click "like," hurry)......just sayin'

Oh, I certainly don't use it much. I recently retired after 24 years (and 12 days) in the Navy, and I might check FB one or twice a day, to find out where some of my former coworkers are headed next. Many social networking sites and chat servers are blocked by DoD firewalls, especially onboard ships, but FB is still allowed through. In fact, the Navy has some official FB pages. In any event, I agree on the ridiculous -- forget the "borderline" -- aspect of FB.

I had not considered just dumping the app and using a browser link, even easier now with OS6 to just make a bookmark a "favorite". I'll get 1.5MB of memory back, too.

I may have determined which app is the leak. BatteryEx. I have unloaded it for now to keep tabs on my memory count. If that's the case, I will install an older version that more than likely doesn't leak.

The loss was raging and I had to make a change. -19MB in three hours!
    Yikes.

Thanks for your service btw. 24 years is alot to give.
FB can be an addiction , kind of like CB.
I have alot of acquaintances who use it regularly, they know to get ahold of me there are better, quicker ways. It is interesting to read the crazy posts, as long as I don't do it to often. Is there a way to make myself invisible on FB? I run into people who constantly want to chat about the most mundane things. I couldn't find that option. I do like all the choices we have these days. TRy the browser link tho, For those of us who visit FB infrequently, probably a good alternative.

What do you get from running BatteryEx and MeterBerry simultaneously? From what I can see, it looks like MeterBerry does all of what the free version of BatteryEx will do. The latest version of MB even has the battery indicator for the notifications area. If you have the paid version that adds the boost function, which looks like WiFi power management, I'm not sure that you need that with OS6. I stopped using those apps (SmartWIFI, etc) when I went to OS6 and haven't looked back. For the most part, my power management has never been better.

24 years may seem like a long time, but it went by SO fast! I'd go back in a heartbeat if they'd let me.

As to making yourself invisible on FB, I'm not sure that you can completely disappear from FB and still have an account. The whole point is to make yourself visible and contactable. There are ways, though, to control just what information is made available for folks to find. There are lots of good FB privacy primers out there that will walk you through locking down your data. You can't disappear, but you can fade into the background. For example, the only people that can find me are those whom I have given specific access. Not their friends, or their friends of friends, etc. No games, either. And no "likes". That sort of thing. I don't show up in any searches.

I'm making the FB site a "favorite" right now. We'll see if it runs better than the app. Thanks.

Underway, you have my appreciation and thanks for your service as well. It's people like you that have made our beloved country the greatest in the world.
Unfortunately there are those in our country that think we are pretty horrible and want to make us better by adopting socialism/progresivism.

I had badly wanted a career in the USAF, was in ROTC in college but was not allowed into the advances ROTC program that leads to a commission due to eye sight problems. I was big time disappointed. Later I got the "Greetings from the President" letter, went for my physical at which time the bestowed a "4F" on me. That was fine with me because I feel that if I am not physically good enough to be an officer then I'm not good enough to be an enlisted person either.

As to FB, I DON'T do FB. I can find absolutely no value in it whatsoever, primrily for the reasons sighted above. My wife does FB, I figure that one of us is enough doing that useless excersize.

JayDee, you have me curious as well. Why MB and Battery EX? Does Battery EX do something that MB doesn't do?

Bob, in this screen shot...the purple heart is a skinnable icon...you can change it to be any number of pictures. The members who own the same app create icons that I can use in place of the purple heart. In my last screen shot I posted, the BatteryEx icon was a US Flag. I have hundreds of them. That's all it does tho, is tell me what level my battery is at.

I think that it might have been more evolution rather than giving up themes...

If something is causing that sort of drain, I would expect that you should be able to see something in the application list -- OPTIONS/DEVICE/ APPLICATION MANAGEMENT/CPU -- hogging up CPU time. That may be a good place to start rather than just deleting and reinstalling apps.
