I wonder if the new app changed some of the permissions?

Would you really change platforms for a few apps?

Its not so much the apps, its what I have to do to make my phone work for me.
Takes so long. Apps not available without a struggle. I'm just tired of it. Beat down.
If someone offered me another phone today I would probably switch.

Might feel differently if I could get the stupid thing to work. But I have a new OS, clean install. Latest 10.2.1 unlocked runtime.
Newest instagram bar file that works for everyone else. Now what else do I have to add?

and hope that works
can't do till I get home though. Cable I have does not allow phone to be recognized by work laptop and no software can be downloaded here to sideload. Tried sachesi and it doesn't recognize my phone because of the cable.....
Tried Chrome and it says it can't find the webpage???? it thinks my 169.254 address is a webpage I guess. Again, probably work security.

So I will wait till tonight and try again.

I forgot that the permissions for a sideloaded app are controlled by the app and the runtime, not the BBRY OS. Sorry.

What happens if you reload the older runtime and IG app that both worked? Maybe with a full restart after install before you run the app? I've found that my sideloaded apps work better if I restart the phone before I run them for the first time, even updates. I've also found that some of my sideloaded apps only work if I convert them myself and use a debug token.

I guess reloading the older runtime and the older IG is a possibility. but:
I had it working.
Then I loaded new IG on top.
It stopped working.
So I loaded the old IG back on.
It didn't work.
So I deleted everything and tried again. No luck.
So I deleted everything, rebooted and loaded new runtime.
Then old IG no luck.then new IG no luck.

All the other sideloads (6 others) work fine in ANY of the runtimes.

I read a thread a few months back that talked about having to have both the old and new versions of IG installed. I found another one this morning that has the same message. Maybe your answer is there?

That WAS how I used it till I upgraded to 10.2.0.1725 and the 641 runtime. Then IG 4.2.1 worked alone.
Now for some reason it doesn't.
So I upgraded the runtime 10.2.1..213??? and it still doesn't work.

I might just delete 4.2.2 of I and go back to what I had last night and try the camera trick that Zaibun used. She said she unchecked using the Instagram camera and hers started working.

No I have 1725 installed and whatever radio came with it.

I downloaded the new runtime everyone is talking about from App World. Well it sux.
Neither old IG works (wouldn't open) nor the new one (says incompatible device)
So at this point, I am going to have to go back to loading version 3 of instagram and then version 4 and hope that the two of them will work...like I did a couple months ago.

They should work if you used a debug token when you converted them because that runtime isn't unlocked.

What are you improving when you load the runtime from 10.2.1, aside from having it unlocked?

I'm using the .132 runtime from AppWorld on 1791/92. Every one of my sideloaded apps runs like it should.
