Pink, I know you didn't use BBM when on a BlackBerry but are you using some sort of social media now? I have tried KiK Messenger but couldn't keep it. Is there some other you are using?

And what about Buford? Will you consider some other messenger besides Kik? I can't use it on my phone. I have other friends on GTalk. Have you ever used that? It has the notifications that I need and does not run down the phone's memory.
+1 for Gtalk, although it does drop the connection frequently!

Congrats 99 on finding work, and best of luck to you

Now as for this gtalk thing, I have an app avail for it 99c, but I've never used it before so I'm clueless here. Would I need to have a google email acct to do so? And idk how much drain that'll put on my battery. I'd have to check that out and see what the deal is

Other than that Jaydee, my form of communication with a couple of people here is through email as of now. Your more than welcome to email me when ever you'd like, and it free

It'll have to be Pacific time. I'm at Joint Base Lewis-McChord near Tacoma WA now. 24 years (and 12 days) in the Navy and I wind up working for the Army.
Hey, you just down the street from me. A crowded street between Federal Way and Seattle but just down there nonetheless.

Ok so Buford and I managed to get Google Talk working. Keeping my fingers crossed that I remember to open it everyday...

I got a 16GB card for my NC and copied several movies on it like Hamster (or Midd) suggested I could. And guess what? It works great!!!! I am very happy that I can watch movies on it now. Lots of room as well. SO I will not run out of space for a while. I used mp4 movies. Are there other formats that will preserve the quality but take up less room on it and still work? Pretty dam-n neat thing for a tablet to do for such a low price!

Thanks for the tip guys! And gal!

Yay! I've been watching (as has my son - who insists on calling it an ipod) movies on it for awhile. I just sideloaded them straight to the device. I don't have a card, but am getting one tomorrow so I can root it.

My question is: What will I gain by rooting it? What will the NC be able to do that it can't right now?

    Thanks!

It would not take much to put me out quick. Was out hiking in the mountains and snow today. Great weather before we plunge into perpetual WET. Mt Rainier in the distance and the other affectionately called the Tombstone is Mt Thompson.

Gosh F2 those shots are gorgeous!!!!
Would you be willing to email me a higher resolution copy of those images? I want to print the pic about 8x10 and hang up in my office. I need some inspiration during the day! Would you mind? I will get them printed and frame them.

    What do you think?

Wow F2! Those are beautiful shots!
I still have the ones you sent me from the Dolomites. I might print one of those as well. There is one in particular with the tops of the mountains painted orange. Maybe you can find that one and send it at a higher resolution too?

I'm being difficult, I know. Sorry!

Yes I do. I will pm you my email address. Just for the record, I was having issues with the camera app locking up my Bold, I deleted Kik, and the problem went away......temporarily. It came back again the other day. I think it's time to do a wipe and clean reload of the OS.

I'm due for a wipe and reload as well. But I am too lazy to do one! When I switch it will be to 587 I believe although 600 hasn't been too much of a problem. Just a few BSOD and some lag...

I'm not going anywhere. Since I'm working now (finally) I won't have all sorts of time to sit in the forum every day now. I'm still around though
Congrats on finding work! I all to well know what it's like trying to find something. I got my masters degree in May and didn't find anything in my field for the last six months.

Congrats on the job Underway. How has Midd's job search been going?
Well I didn't find anything in my field (or couldn't even jobs get jobs like sales associate at Petco or driving a forklift at Pepsi). I finally started my own pilot car and escorting service company for oversize load semi-trucks. It kind of sucks that I got a degree that I may never use and spent all that money getting it, but hey, it is what it is .

Midd, glad you are working and yes, it does suck that you got a degree and can't find a job. My son has the same problem so he went back to grad school for a career change.

I keep adding apps to my phone. Recently added G talk and it seems to drain memory less than Kik so I am going to keep it on my phone. Also, certain themes don't play well with my phone but I have always had that problem. When I add several apps at once I have to watch to see which may be causing problems...but so far, pretty steady. So I think GTalk is a go.

Jaydee...nope, still waiting on Beta from Julio. Oh well.

I just installed whatsapp.... I'm trying all sorts of these so I know which one is the best. Tried PingMe. May delete it --- I have a lot more contacts on whatsapp - some who are in Africa so it works....however. BB has been laggy and battery idk. May not be able to keep it. Will try Gtalk next lol.

Yeah, I never worry about the battery too much because I have the extended and also charging pods at work and home. So it's never a prob to charge up cept if Im gonna be away from the house or work all day. But the memory hit worries me. Like I said, I haven't noticed a prob with GTalk.

    I'll tell you what I ABSOLUTELY LOVE>>>>>>Vlingo!
How did I live without it?
Wow! Works great! Especially when driving...er...in the car!
I also make notes to myself in the car while I have time to think and ...one key press and it records it to tasks.

Fantastic app! If any of the Ramblers have not tried it, please do before it is not free anymore. I think you have till end of the calendar year. App World.

Yeah, at least I'm doing something. And working for myself is pretty nice. I also started a business as a statistics and evaluation consultant but it's tough getting any work with that. I've made about $2,000 in the last 6 months, not enough to live off it. So, owning and running 2 businesses, it could be worst.

Retail can be fun if you like people.

I have just started using it and like it so far. I need to learn a little more of what I can do with it. My wife is using it and really loves it.
