Little problem trying to download new OS. I'm running .443. I am trying to download .600. When I go through apploader it says that the OS I am trying to download will be a downgrade. Also desktop manager pops up too and it says there is an updated OS on it too. Yes I have downloaded the .600 to my computer. Any help ?

I have erased all other OS from my computer.

Did you delete the vendor.xml files?

    Buford,
    All OSes erased from pc.
Downloaded and installed .600 from the sticky on cb.
Backed up contacts and bbm contacts with DM
DO NOT OPEN DM AT ALL after that.
If you're using Apploader, run it.

Doesn't apploader come up and give you choices of what to install? little checkboxes?

I don't open DM but it automatically pops up. No check boxes because when it gets to the part about downgrading I push cancel. I have tried turning off the internet to keep DM from popping up but it still does. I think the update on DM is .431.

Keep closing out of DM, you may have it set to automatically launch. If anything DM should be telling you 524 is available as (recommended) and 431 as (downgrade)

Pcgizmo you are probably right on wiping my phone with BBSAK first before trying. I just had bad luck last time I wiped with it. My phone bricked !

You can't fok up your Bold completely, there's plenty of brain-power here in this thread to get you back on track.

I remember being frightened to wipe my Curve way back when. You'll be ok, we are all here to help.

Now, wipe that sucker and load up 600!

edit: I've found that the best way to learn how to fix something, is to break it!

DM is always opening because when you installed it you checked "start when device is connected". Need to change that option.

Well, post for help whenever you get around to doing the upgrade.
Whoever is here will help you.
As for me Ramblers, I am going to high tea later this afternoon.
    Pardon me! HAHA

Once you get 600 on your PC, even if you choose to use DM to initiate the upgrade your options should be like those in the attachment.

In DM: Device > Update my device > View other versions

I like using apploader. Seems like it goes smoother most of the time.

I agree, but my point was that DM lets you skip around. You don't have to go to 524 to be able to load up 600.

You may have to delete the hidden vendor files, Midd wrote this up:

Here's where you can find the hidden files (courtesy of the guys over at OSBB.com)
    C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
