Newly-minted Masters can't be clueless, can they?

I remember a post somewhere that theorized that this was a PRL update or a service book issue. I don't recall that I saw a resolution. Maybe you could look at resending service books or having them pushed by Big Red.

    Know what guys? Forget it.
I'll take care of my phone myself.
    Thanks for the help!
    I don't know, I wasn't criticizing you. I was just telling you that I wasn't loading up 407 over 333.

You seem to be taking my comments personally, and there not meant to be taken that way.

You have to use what works for you.
Now now children! We'll be having none of that in the "Rambler's" thread. You guys need to kiss and make up....

JayDee, you need to load whatever you think might help resolve your problem, it matters not what we think. I don't think that Paul was intending to put you down or say that you shouldn't install the hybrid. We all know that you are at witts end, be patient with us and we'll try and be patient with you. Deal?

Yea the can be! I find myself clueless all the time, goes with the territory when dealing with electronics and computers. At least for me, and I've been dealing with this stuff for a lot of years...

I've never had an instance where a hybrid "helped", but we are definitely due for a new leak... I get the ~20mb memory leak as well, but it doesn't hurt anything.... pointless to continue to load hybrid builds when the problem is in the core of 333 that isn't changing until a new complete build is leaked.
Well then, you are very lucky because hybrids are ALL that I could run on my 8330 and I'm beginning to think that is all I will run on my Bold as well. You obviously never had the pleasure of having a chirp, clang, speakerphone blast or squelch when trying to make a phone call. Oh yes, I got that on 8330 and I got that on my Bold as well. That is why I like hybrids because they filter out the offending files.

Also, I am not convinced that ANYONE knows that the problem lies in the "core of 333". After a lot of testing, I have determined that maybe its the sfi file and that is why I try hybrids; ones that use a different radio file. Unfortunately 280 is so flaky that I can't use it with 333. So I WILL have to wait for a number version that is higher than 3.

Ready for a new leak as well.
Oh and if I only had a 20MB leak I'd be dancing naked in the streets. Mine is more like 40MB and it DOES cause me to have lockups, random reboots, I also have the camera reboot problem and when I try to use the browser, I have to try three times because I get an error that says unable to connect to the internet.

Anyone still wondering why I'm frazzled?

Hey Jaydee.....you would NOT want to be dancing in the streets (especially naked at this time) here in Stow, Ohio. I have over 1 foot of snow in my driveway with more on the way. It's time to winterize the old body.....gin for you.....vodka for me.

Ellie, you're right! I'm pouring a drink now as I type...not easy to do pour and type at the same time!!!

And it's so icy here that I almost fell getting into my car...so you're right. Too cold to dance in the streets...TODAY!!!!

I have run the upgrade with the SCrid .380/.407 patch. Took about 25 minutes, everything restored and the device seems to be running fine. I'll see how it does, need to do a couple of bat pulls tonight and see how it performs tomorrow.

Bob, you installed that over a clean copy of 333?

No, over this one: http://forums.crackberry.com/f224/6-...9650-a-561247/ which is the one you have loaded I think. This was the patch that he told you to wait for a week or so ago.

I went back and reread the description, it is: .333 overlayed by .359/.407 which leaves a few .333 files which are unique to 9650. The patch overlays the .359 files with .380.

    Ahhh Sooo grasshopper.

I've done 2 different prl updates since this was first noticed. I've decided to be proactive and I've reloaded/installed 407 using fresh files.

+1 for the hockey sticks. Three leaks in one day and none for the 9650. C'mon man!

Hmmm, that's not gonna make a real difference for me. My copy of 6 runs very smoothly and is much faster to navigate than 5 ever was. I am just looking for the magic file that stops the memory leak but I doubt it's in the 380 files, or even 407 files that are NOT radio files.

Waiting on that leak....where are you????

Point well taken, I don't think it is in the Java files either. It has to be in the SFI or some other device control file. Problem is that we don't really know what some of these processes are doing so have no clue which one is the bad actor. Changing to a new leak gives you the hope that they have re-worked some of them and in so doing have fixed the problem causing the leaks.

yea im ready for a leak to, although we cant really complain seeing as we had two leaks before the 9700 had one. We had 6 way before most other devices so i guess it is give and take.

Alright guys, trying to crop some pics with imgEdit, but the crop tool seems to be locked into a 240x180 selection and won't let me change it at all. Anyone else seen this?

    I am running 5.0.0.975 with imgEdit 1.2

    Thanks Guys and Gals!

Right now Device Status & Info says File Free: 269,418,361 and when I checked it last week it was 270,xxx,xxx. Good enough for me!!!!
I installed an app today and found I didn't like the way it worked so I promptly removed it and rebooted my Bold. For kicks I checked my Device Info, and today the File Free is 280,069,642.

    I guess I have a Bizzaro-Leak!
