I went to the Blackberry store in Atlanta airport because I had lost my charger. So while I was there I of course asked about the Tour 2. The rep told me it would be late March, early April before its released. That's for Verizon, Sprint will have to wait longer.
FYI I left the charger there. There's no way I was paying $35 for a charger.
See...just think...if you had your T2 right now, how much better things would be.

Now one theory I have is that they may start the ad campaign during the superbowl this evening and then release it later in the week, such as on wednesday. But I guess well see.
This may sound silly, but I am not watching this thread at all for the T2, I am completely happy with my T1 (which, BTW, is work issued and is FREE!), but I do want to upgrade to the official 5.whatever OS when it gets released. I am using .419, which is working great, with only a couple bugs, but since everybody seems to be tying an official 5.x release to the T2, I gotta keep up on the T2 drama taking place.

Well it already is $99 with a 2 year renewal and yes i've looked at the 8530 but it just seems cheap and ugly to me (no offense to anyone! i'm just picky with that sort of thing). But thanks anyways I appreciate the response!
I was at Walmart today and Tour1 for VZW with 2-year new contract was $18.88

I can, but it will be extremely painful. This MOTORAZR V3 (yes I just admitted that publicly) is literally on it's last leg. It's been chewed up, drooled on, and drop-kicked.
You can't make a prediction based on what a salesperson tells you but Sprint managers have been pretty consistent telling people March. That's what I'm hearing in Chicago and that's been fairly consistent with what others have reported across the board.
Disclaimer: I know store reps do not know anything about release dates. This post is only to meant to show that they have knowledge of it.
I was at a VZW store in south Austin this afternoon with my girlfriend upgrading her 8830 to the T1. I of course had to ask about the Tour 2. One rep relied that the "essex would be out around the corner...I mean the tour 2 should be out at the end of the month." Then another rep sitting next to him said end of the month. Yes, he did say essex at first and not tour 2. Glad to see that he acknowledges it.
Ugh. If this thing doesn't come out soon... might freak out! I am on T-mobile's crummy service, with a Motorola Cliq (which still runs on 1.5 android OS... vs the 2.0 upgrade the lucky droid-users received)... can't wait to swtich back to a blackberry. Wanted to try out Android after using my 8900.. and now I regret it. Android OS is too complicated for the phones... it freezes up and block incoming call signals! AH sorry just had to vent!
