I noticed that Alltel released the official 5.0 update for the 9630 today and I know that Verizon has obtained Alltel. That said, I'm wondering if the 5.0 update for Verizon users will roll out tomorrow which would fall into the same category as the 9550 release. The 5.0 OS for the 9530 was released on a Sunday, the announcement on Monday and the phone release on Wednesday.

Am I grasping at straws?

I don't think that is out of the question. Sal, and travis said 2/3 + or - 7 days. Wed would be at he +7 days mark. I think sal may have said it that way so he doesn't get his inside info cut off.

Somebody posted this morning that the 5.0 os would be released Tuesday, he they didn't have any proof, not doubting it.....just no info other than Tuesday. He seemed confident.

Well it already is $99 with a 2 year renewal and yes i've looked at the 8530 but it just seems cheap and ugly to me (no offense to anyone! i'm just picky with that sort of thing). But thanks anyways I appreciate the response!

I just recently came to Verizon and bought the Droid, however I miss my Bold 9700 and want to come back to Blackberry. I always find a way to make a new phone work for me. I'm always buying and selling phones on eBay to make money for it.

it is easy to do when the phone works well, and you love it. but when you have a junk phone it is hard a go a week.
