Verizon is supposedly going to release 15 new smartphones between Nov 1 and the end of December. I'm thinking the Tour 2 will be one of them.

Depends on if they have any production troubles or not (remember the Sperizon Tour?). Not to mention that Sprint and Verizon will want to tweak the firmware.

It only makes sense for the release date to be in proximity to the holiday season but yet not to close because its still a relatively new addition to the BB line up. Either way, I bought my Tour flat out because I wanted a BB so my upgrade date didn't reset. Its rather convienient that my upgrade is in March. Just in time for the new Tour.....

I think black Friday is a little soon, wouldn't we hear something about the release date a couple weeks (at least) beforehand? Black Friday is in a couple weeks. Didn't we learn about the Tour's official release date like a month before the actual date?

I am so ready.. my 8130 is really struggling anymore. Especially the trackball which struggles to go up. I don't want to replace the trackball if the essex is just a few short weeks away. I'll just deal.

8130 ->> 9650 will be a rather major upgrade, look forward to it!

I definitely don't think we'll see the Tour 2 by Black Friday. I think that even Dec. 2nd is pushing it. Perhaps two weeks before xmas or early 2010.

Considering the information that we've been given about the phone, I would have to agree with charleybrown about a Black Friday release being unlikely. I'm going to have to go with a Black Friday announcement of a Sunday, December 13th release.

I'd have to say somewhere early in the new year. Just my assumption. January or Feb. is my guess. Seems as though all things with the Tour, including the 5.0 upgrade, have been put on the Vzw back-burner for now. Unfortunately!

I spoke to my Sprint corporate sales rep and he is told me "Should be out within the next few weeks"... So what is that 2,3,4,5 weeks???
