yes....roll back the tax cuts for the rich and give the tax cuts to the middle class - the people who need them and will use that money throughout the economy....the mccain campaign has used the "spread the wealth" comment as propoganda and totally twisted the context...yes i know each campaign has and will continue to do that, but you have to know the facts as a voter...i never take anything obama or mccain says at face value til i research it myself...every voter should educate themselves on the context and validity of each issue for each candidate....yes, so spread the wealth to the people who need it...give the family that makes $45,000 a year a tax cut that they'll use and not the family that makes $400,000....the 45k family will spend that money whereas the 400k family will put it in a bank account....trickle down is was stimulates the economy and keeps it going...simple economics

JRussett, Obama wants to tax the wealthy a higher percentage.

which is exactly what i just said...and it's not necessarily a "higher" percentage as it is just a higher percentage than it is now...in bush's infinite wisdom he gave a tax cut to the wealthiest people in the country when it's the poor and the middle class that NEED the tax cut...

No JRussett, he wants to tax them a higher percentage than the rest of the country.

Actually Jrussett, the wealthy are paying a higher percentage as it is, bush just made it so it wasn't so ridiculous.

yeah paying higher taxes when you make over $349000 a year seems ridiculous (sarcasm injected here)...it's not until that income point that anyone will pay higher taxes under Obama's plan...i really doubt they'll miss 2 percentage points max...and there is good news for the families making $349000 as well - if the AMT is revised as it is planning to be, then they'll have a ton more deductions that they are able to take advantage of and it'll probably work out better for them in the long run any way....

here's a fact - if you make $1.6 million or MORE you're taxed at the current rate of 21%...if you make between $31k and $64k a year then your tax rate is 25%...fair? i think not...

i will say this however - i dont believe anyone can come up with a plan (other than a flat tax across the board regardless of income) that could be deemed fair to all...

sorry you're correct - however if you make 250-349gs you'll be taxed at the same rate that you were taxed at 2 years ago...

Why does that make a difference. Bush and Cheney have also never been in
battle so I am not sure what your point is.

Great, more of this middle name stupidity. What the h3ll does a name, that he
incidentally did not choose for himself, have to do with his ability to govern.

This BS is why the GOP is finding itself in trouble this cycle. Focusing on these
inconsequential, downright trivial and esoteric matters rather than the issues
that actually matter will possibly cost them the Presidency and Congress.

So yeah, keep up the Hussein crap, trot out Joe the Plumber, keep hurling
unfounded invective and whatever you all do, DO NOT discuss in any
coherent way a positive vision for the nation. That's going to work so well.

you just made my point. so why then would we want another pres with no military experiance?

No actually not. Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford and George H.W. Bush had military
experience and they were 4 of the worst Presidents the nation has ever had
    to suffer through.

So your military experience argument holds no weight.

Well lets see here.......McCain - 25 yrs + congressional experience and military experience

Obama - 143 days as US senator who has done literally nothing for Chicago or America

Hard choice huh? i am in the military and it just doesnt make sense to have a president lead you that has no clue about the military. without the military this great nation wouldnt be here. why was Washington the first pres? do a little homework before you vote. not to say that military experiance is everything but sure says a lot about someones service to others and country.

Look, I am not arguing the value of the military. As the son of a
Marine, I would never dream of doing such a thing.

However, being in the military does not automatically confer on
anyone great leadership or governance abilities, as my 4 examples
    demonstrates.

Please, do not attempt to make suppositions as to what
"homework" I have or have not done. And I won't make the
assumption that you are simply an ideologue blinded by partisan
BS and unable to think for yourself. Deal?

And there are other ways to honorably serve ones community
and nation without being in the military.

Finally, the choice is getting easier by the day. Having gone into this
open-minded (No party affiliation) the one thing I take away is that
McCain has nothing to offer and is simply lurching from position to position
    hoping something takes hold.
Palin is just a disingenuous moron that is completely unworthy of
    consideration for such high office.

well you can be offended all you want if thats what you are....i dont really care....this forum is exactly what i fight for. i comend your father/mother which ever is the marine for the service. as i said before military experiance is not everything but it is important. so as you sit there and get **** hurt because people have there own views and opinions that conflict with yours just remeber that its the ones who serve in battle that gave you your freedom of speach. not the community organizer.
