Oh please like the dems aren't putting out ads full of lies. Its a shame they are more worried about attacking others than worried about their own campaign.

ahhhh....yeah right....the republicans are sooooo innocent
Both parties are going to air attack ads. That will never change. Its also why you can't believe the commercials. Listen to the candidates, their platforms, their plans. Do research. Don't be an uninformed voter who picks their guy based on what the attack ads flame them for.

I am voting McCain.
My biggest factor was:
Gun Control
There are other reasons also but the gun control one was really the deal breaker for me.
well said kristinlynn...
Well my Friends we have to wait and see who wins. For the sake of the country i play its Mccain and if its not i Pray we can maintain our seats in House and Senate and maybe pick up a few more!
I wonder how the Coal Union that supported Obama feels about his statement that he is going to Bankrupt the coal industry .
Harsh words during a bad economy especially in area like Penn, Virginia and Ohio and West Virginia....
I have been awake since 5:00 am this morning and I am definitely NOT a morning person:p I am so excited about the election. Today I feel proud to be an American. :D

Precisely what I've been trying to convey in this and other threads regarding today's election.
Listen..I'm simply and painfully being honest in saying that these attack ads aren't on equal footing. McCain's ads have been tinged with deceit/bluffs/lies/fudge...whereas Obama's 'attack' ads are more like 'defense' ads in that he has to come out with his ads to disspell the outright false/padded allegations spewed at him.
It's a sad commentary on politics as a whole; especially the Republican party as an entity.
Btw, jmoney...if Rush Limbaugh doesn't even have enough clout to effectively dispense his bluffs to try to convince voters in swing states to cast their votes for McCain...you think your bluffing is 'more honest' sounding? Come on now Bobby.
NO to FOUR MORE YEARS of BUSH. McCain and Bush are ONE AND THE SAME. McCain and Bush have sided 90% of the time, so 10% of the time they differ...if you feel comfortable with that batting average and if you feel your life, other's lives, the world..is better now than it was 8 years ago..cast your vote accordingly.
I have an idea, how about we drop political parties, and candidates start running on issues and not parties...
I completely agree with you, well put. Unfortunately there are going to be many voters who are uninformed and cast their vote solely on seeing these attack ads or because they believe one candidate speaks better than the other or one has more experience than the other. People need to do their research, look at the candidates records, see what they stand for, if they dont, in my opinion, they are just throwing their vote away
again it hurts (lol) but i agree with vinnie...two party system is what kills this country...as nice as it sounds to run on issues and ideals, it's still inevitable that two parties would emerge...it's human nature
Hi-Def dont you have to be a US citizen to vote anyways......Just wondering.
Go ahead and watch Keith Oberman and Bow down to the Messiah ......Come on man! Its so annoying...
What i hate about these threads is you cant even have a debate about the issues. If you believe in abortion and Gay Marriage and taxing the wealthy and having your rights to Bare arms taken away and a much larger Government to take care of all your problems and Socialized Medicen then Vote for Obama.
I for one Believe in Pro-Life, right to bare arms and for a goverment that gets out of the way and allows people to prosper and grow themselves and there lively hood. I alos believe in having a strong Military and not cattering to Dictators and thugs of other Goverments.
Listen GW screwed to heck up. I am here to say that he did a horrible job this last term. I am also here to say Mccain isnt and wasnt my first Choice. I am voting for the lesser of 2 evils. I pray to GOD...Yes "GOD" that i got it right!
just one correction - if you watched the first debate Obama DID say he was against abortion...furthermore, gun control and taking away the right to bear arms is totally different...larger government? who added an entirely new department? the republicans....it seems like you listen more than you research...
Right on JR.
jmoney1026: When the thread started there was some debate on issues. Unfortunately it quickly gave way to accusation and innuendo.
Oh i am sorry , He Voted "Present" Didn't give a opinion on Partial Birth Abortions
Trust women to make own decisions on partial-birth abortion
Q: What us your view on the decision on partial-birth abortion and your reaction to most of the public agreeing with the court's holding?
A: I think that most Americans recognize that this is a profoundly difficult issue for the women and families who make these decisions. They don't make them casually. And I trust women to make these decisions in conjunction with their doctors and their families and their clergy. And I think that's where most Americans are. Now, when you describe a specific procedure that accounts for less than 1% of the abortions that take place, then naturally, people get concerned, and I think legitimately so. But the broader issue here is: Do women have the right to make these profoundly difficult decisions? And I trust them to do it. There is a broader issue: Can we move past some of the debates around which we disagree and can we start talking about the things we do agree on? Reducing teen pregnancy; making it less likely for women to find themselves in these circumstances.
Source: 2007 South Carolina Democratic primary debate, on MSNBC Apr 26, 2007Abortion is advocated only by persons who have themselves been born.[An abortion protester at a campaign event] handed me a pamphlet. "Mr. Obama, I know you're a Christian, with a family of your own. So how can you support murdering babies?"
I told him I understood his position but had to disagree with it. I explained my belief that few women made the decision to terminate a pregnancy casually; that any pregnant woman felt the full force of the moral issues involved when making that decision; that I feared a ban on abortion would force women to seek unsafe abortions, as they had once done in this country. I suggested that perhaps we could agree on ways to reduce the number of women who felt the need to have abortions in the first place.
"I will pray for you," the protester said. "I pray that you have a change of heart." Neither my mind nor my heart changed that day, nor did they in the days to come. But that night, before I went to bed, I said a prayer of my own-that I might extend the same presumption of good faith to others that had been extended to me.

Ronald Reagan
Dont just assume all use Conservatives only listen to Rush or Glenn Beck...We Read.....
Oh and as for my past Post...I said if you look Back That GW made a Mess of things. I feel that Obama's approach will only make it worse. I dont want a bigger Government..
The nine most terrifying words in the English language are, 'I'm from the government and I'm here to help.'
Ronald Reagan
What is that supposed to mean Bobby?
So just because someone doesn't have your complexion skin, your hair color, your eye color...you make assumptions about them?
No wonder you in particular; aren't voting for Obama. There are words to describe/sum up people with your mindset. I think both white and people of color can surmise as to what those words are.

I was just asking man! Dang...Dont have to get all testy..You ask everyone there ethnisity. I was not refering to RACE so dont even go there? Go figured a attorney would make a play on words Hi-DEF! Stop calling me Bobby, The name is Jeremy and i approved this Message.
Now Back to the Issues......If Obama wins, i hope he keeps all his promises I wont get my taxes raised because i dont make $250k no wait $200k or is it $150k oh man any closer and i am gonna get taxed! I am pretty sure he will settle around $120k !
Also Hi-Def, what made you change you mind 100% from voting for Bush like you did the first time? Was it the war or what? Just wondering. Were you pro life or smaller government?
I will be happy when today is over. I personally have tried to stick to issues, not always easy and I have not always been successful. The Abortion issue is what it is, neither side will convince the other to change their minds, to bring it up is only to state one's position. Obama has been honest about not being for gun control now. As a gun owner, I take him at his word and believe him. Besides, the Supreme Court's recent ruling was very clear on the subject -- much as some would like it to be the wedge issue it was in the past. It isn't and won't be as long as the Court has it's current conservative majority.
The coal issue is being misstated here. I watched the interview and he clearly, clearly stated that those who try to open a coal fired power plant without using the best available clean technology would be taxed into bankruptcy. Not all coal plants, only those who violate the rules. Is anyone here suggesting we should allow the power industry to roll back environmental rules and allow them to pollute?
These issues have been argued to death by all of us, there's no point in attacking each other any longer. Isn't it time for us to draw together and start solving problems? I did it twice as I watched Bush get elected -- and even though almost all of my worst fears were realized, I remained friends with my conservative buddies. I expect the same from them if the polls are accurate and Barrack is our next president.
The issues for me have not changed. I support Obama for the environment's sake, for the health of my family and I, for worker rights -- rights that have been under assault for decades with little let up, and the results are obvious with lower wages, benefits and safety rule enforcement. To bring some sanity to Wall Street, and I know Warren Buffet knows what he is talking about and as one of Obama's advisors, he will straighten the mess out and help design a fairer tax system. To bring our troops home from Iraq and concentrate on getting Bin Ladin -- then turning the job of catching terrorist criminals over to the police not the military who we need to face threats from other, more dangerous foes.
I know many disagree with me on how to tackle the problems we face, but I think we all agree on what those problems are. It is my desire to put the rancor of the campaign behind us and move forward. Anger won't do anyone any good, will it? Here's to the future, and I hope who ever wins rewards our faith in him with the results we all want.

Partisan politics aside:
Make sure everyone one of your friends, co-workers, and family members vote today! We all know this is the biggest election of some of our lives and regardless of who people vote for the most important thing is that they actually vote!!!

J$....just curious....where exactly does mccain plan on reducing the size of gov't? and please dont answer with the hachet and scalpel propaganda....it's one thing to say he'll do it, it's a totally different ballgame if you say it and have a plan to back it up...which mccain doesnt
as for abortion - it's very cut and dry and most people do not understand that unless a candidate is running on the premise that he will propose a constitutional amendment then it doesnt matter if they are prolife or prochoice...because the CONSTITUTION says it's a woman's right...find a candidate that is pledging to amend the constitution and he's the one you should vote for
First off I want to tell you that John Mccain was not and still is not my first choice in this election. I am going with the lesser of 2 evils. As for Abortion i would rather have someone i know will fight for the right to life movement then someone who will elect liberal progressive judges and move forward the liberal agenda further than it already is. As for a Candidate i believe Palin Represents this 1000% Prolife Stance i agree with so i have my candidate.
As for government spending....and a smaller governemt here are my beliefs
It is our money being wasted and we need it.
Government spending must be critical to the survival of our freedom, person or economy
Government must never borrow or tax to make our lives better
If we do not have the money, government programs do not make our lives better
Entitlements destroy just the opposite of their intent
Work to get entitlements out of the budget for the future
Federal spending must affect all fifty states
Government must never borrow or tax to make our lives better
Balance the Federal budget except for national emergency
National debt is for national emergency period.
Never mortgage the future of our country.
How many times does John Mccain have to tell you that he is going to cut spending and get rid of the pork. Dont come back at my with the Whole HOW responce.....How is obama gonna do any of the big plans like socialized medicine...I remember he is gonna tax people who make between $250k to oh no wait i meant $200k or is it $150K ...Well everyone that doesnt pay taxes, enjoy the free $500 on me!!!!!! My family says your welcome!
This is Funny....Even for a McCain Voter...I am the voter that didn't Vote...LOL
