Many of you are asking; where are the 'numbers', the 'facts'...even though they've been laid-out in clear form; it's still not enough for some. What else is needed? Is reality not enough proof w/o empirical data behind it?

There's no need for moot excuses and justification...the reality is that McCain = Bush; and the reality is reflected from the state of domestic and foreign affairs.

People miss this, because they don't see the third part of the equation that is McCain = Bush = Republican Party. If McCain is such a maverick, why is he not running as an independent? Why, if the Republican base is not enamored with McCain is the base almost fully behind him?

Personally I look at the character of a man.
Obama-friends with a known terrorist,friends with a racist,friends with a convicted slum lord who Obama helped fund his projects. IMO all the people he associates with says something about what kinda person he is.IMO

That's your opinion on what will happen. Where will they go? People won't work for free. Maybe some doctors need a slice of humble pie and take a pay cut. It's not like they can't survive off $100,000 a year instead of $150,000 or $200,000 a year or whatever they make.

Why punish doctors? You obviously know NOTHING, I repeat; you obviously know NOTHING about a lot of things. You may refer to me as many negative things...but please don't try to talk all confident as if what you are saying are facts; it's misleading to those that are either oblivious, or want to truly learn.

Let me elaborate on something; the compensation that you see for many doctors now was elevated through physician-lobbyists in the 1960's...which helped to sky-rocket physician salaries to the level they are now. Initially; doctors who were mainly in private practice; were not the biggest proponents of the introductin to HMOs..as HMOs introduced and standardized tedious paperwork that comes with treating patients under a private or public (Medicare/Medicaid) healthcare plan.

Thus in turn; the government listened and made the monetary payout to doctors a bit more rewarding by increasing the amount the government pays to doctors for providing services to medicare/medicaid patients. Doctors still have added paperwork/documentation with dealing with such patients...but the higher monetary pay has simmered many of their vocal chords down a bit.

Government has rewarded doctors; while insurance companies have punished the patients.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is an attempt. As heated as this thread has been, just shows how "emotional" (for the lack of a better word) this election process has become.

Take that and add the racial issue of Obama being black and I think I heard the assassination cycle runs about every 25 years...I never thought about it, but it may be a very good possibility.

Agreed 100 percent. It has been almost painful sitting here listening to her. This woman is most obviously out of her league here.

Speaking of someone who is painful to listen to, am I the only person that notices the fact that mccain does nothing but drop names and talk about how he was in the war during each and every debate and speech? I mean, good god, mccain... You should have just chosen bono as your runningmate.

This has had me worried. Read about the white supremacists in our country, it'd scare the heck out of anyone. I read a book a number of years ago about the Order and Rob Mathews who killed a jewish talk show host in Denver, most of them are dead (Mathews) or in prison. They had many friends across the country who are still there.


The idea of an african american president must be just driving them nuts. They hate all minorities and jews. I have no doubts they will plot against Obama. They are all about hate and spew this filth disguised as religion in Christian Identity movement. We must be vigilant against these evil people.

My greatest fear is Obama getting elected and the Democrats keeping control of Congress. If that happens, we are in a Huge Pile O' Trouble. If that happens, expect imminent economic collapse, followed by even more massive government intervention and eventual eroding of your rights. Expect your hard-earned dollars to be taxed away at alarming, never-before-seen rates. Expect record unemployment. Expect crappy, government-run universal healthcare.

Expect disaster.

If McCain/Palin are elected, expect the same, just delayed by 4/8 years (depending on re-lection.) As long as government meddles in the open market, we'll continue to have these periodic, catastrophic economic crashes. The solution to the current economic crisis? Exactly what Jeffery Miron said in his CNN column - bankruptcy, not bailout.

Let it crash.

Because after it crashes, free market forces will self-regulate the economy and will let it rebuild itself properly. The Great Depression was prolonged and worsened in the 30's by FDR's government programs, and now we're heading down the same road. Government causes economic woes, government steps in to fix woes, and we start the cycle again. We're just starting the cycle over. LET THE FREE MARKET RULE. Only then will we be truly insulated from disaster.

Oh great let the free market rule. What a crock. Unregulated, uncontrolled greed has gotten us into this mess. I will agree to let it crash and let the greed monkeys on wall street enjoy the results of their speculation. At least Roosevelt's bailout programs were designed to help ordinary people and not the fatcats who caused the depression. And in the process he saved us from communism which was making inroads in our country.

Unrgulated capitalism is a horrible system where working folks are treated like cr*p -- used up and thrown away. What's next? Get rid of FDIC? Dump OSHA and overtime wages? Spare the baloney. Roosevelt saved our country and you don't understand that then there's no hope for youb. We all believe in free markets, but what you're talking about was discredited in 1929.

Right, so when in 1994 the Clinton administration enacted legislation *requiring* that lenders increase their subprime lending, that was the free market screwing things up?

And when the Federal Government sets up puppet lenders like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac whose *sole purpose* is to lend to people that free-market lenders *wouldn't lend to,* that's the free market screwing up?

In the free market, when speculators gamble, they sometimes lose, and sometimes lose BIG. But where's the incentive to manage your money wisely when you know that the government will just bail you out? Why shouldn't I take unnecessary risks if I know that if I royally screw the pooch Uncle Sam has his checkbook at the ready?

The *problem* here is government intervention. Without a promise of a Federal bailout, banks and lenders don't take as many risks, and we don't end up with huge mortgage foreclosures and massive credit crises. They lend to people who can afford it, and don't lend to people who can't. The Fed's low rates ensured the easy flow of cash into people's hands, and it's finally caught up with us again, just like in 1929.

What you need to accept is that not everyone will be able to live the American Dream. Not everyone can own a house, a yard, have two cars, etc. And it's NOT the government's job to provide these things for *anyone.* Why should *I* have to pay for stupid lender's -- and stupid borrower's -- mistakes?
