On Friday, September 26th at 6:00 p.m...we're having a presidential debate party at my friend's crib de la casa. As of last night; of the attendees...a little under half look to be McCain supporters, the other half Obama supporters, and then there are two Ron Paul supporters...Ron Paul still has his die hard minions (not millions; even though he does have that many supporters). It should make for an interesting night.

I say this reluctantly, and I'll say why in a bit...but my take on voting for someone like Ron Paul (I think he's a stand-up guy); is that I think it's a "waste" of a vote for someone that has NO chance at winning the election in November. We know votes are an instrument of practicing one's choice...but if there are CLEARLY mainly TWO (Obama and McCain) candidates that have a VERY REAL shot at winning...a vote should be cast for either one of those two. I say the above reluctantly because I'm all for people expressing their sentiment via their choice on the ballot (even if it is for a candidate who has no statistical/real shot)...but IN THIS YEAR (the theme of this entire post); voters should be even more congnizant of their vote. It's even more important in this particular election year that people cast their vote smart.

There are two things that I feel are highly negligent on the part of voters this year...

    1) Not voting, period.

    2) Voting for someone that has as much chance of winning this year's election as an ice cube has of surviving in the Gobi Desert.**

**I'm ESPECIALLY talking about THIS election year...since I would think that a vast majority of Americans know (should know rather); how much is riding on the line this year comparatively to say the '00 and '04 election years.

Some years, voting for a 3rd party candidate is a good way to make your opinion known, but this time too much is at stake. Eight years ago Nader, (along with the Supreme Court), handed Bush the presidency -- the worst president since Harding (a crook who actually had a clue about foriegn relations).

I can say Ron Paul would not be going along with Bush's form of socialism -- save the banks and protect the golden parachute's. Isn't that something? The White House actually asked Congress to protect the executive's benefit packages. The taxpayer gets to pay millions to the greedy bast*rds who got us into this mess -- yes, along with those living beyond their means.

It is hard to believe anyone would give the same people another chance. Something to think about, McCain will be hiring his staff from the same pool of Repulicans Bush uses. Not just the high ranking people, but the next layer of employees as well. The people who actually run the government. How can we keep doing the same thing and expect the outcome to be different? It's the same theory casinos count on to take your money. Now is the time to change things.

Yeah, lets move to liberal-socialism, where even if you dont work as hard as me, the government still gives you the same benefits...

It's already been shown; to which they've reacted the following ways...

    A) Decided to vote for Obama
    B) Decided to vote according to utilizing the confidence they hold in 10% of their brain cells

It is hard to believe anyone would give the same people another chance. Something to think about, McCain will be hiring his staff from the same pool of Repulicans Bush uses. Now, now exelant...let's be fair and accurate here...we're not Fox (far right) and MSNBC (far left).

McCain actually wants to tap Mario Cuomo's son as the head of the HUD...so he's not totally going to swim with the same swimmers that tread in Bush' pool. Aside from that one glimmer of change...you're dead on.

It'll be the same crooks in ties and suits...pulling a reverse Robin Hood on the average American (most all of us). Of which the signs of such a grotesque 8-year heist are more than evident today.

I approach this with an even, objective and fair hand folks...what you see is what you get. My mantra remains unstaved...McCain = Bush, Bush = McCain...one and the same...the same and the one.

Cuomo would be a good hire. I wonder how long he'd last with the sharks who believe that it is somehow wrong to help those less fortunate than themselves.

Isn't it ironic that conservatives rail against socialism, and accuse Democrats of being in favor of socialism, but when their boardroom buddies need help, (and are in danger of losing their fantastic benefits), the Bush solution is to socialize the debt that is causing the trouble.

It would almost be funny if the stakes weren't so high and consequences so dire.

The democratic side this election year is clearly the better choice...HILLARY CLINTON would have made a great President; just as much as BARACK OBAMA will.

Aside from the McCain=Bush connection...look at Palin. Palin is scary; she downright scares me. Do you know why? Because she would be Cheney..except she'd be easier to look at then Cheney is, she probably has a better aim than Cheney has...AND she has an EVEN MORE insatiable appetite for power than Cheney has.

Cheney is JUST AS MUCH to blame for our problems; as Bush is. Cheney is the most powerful VP in the history of VPs. He has used and abused his power; and has created unprecedented power for a VP.

Palin would wildly abuse her power. She has no rapport w/ world leaders (which is greatly needed in this day and age)...she sees the world through a pin-hole rather than a kaleidoscope that the world is.

Anyone who doubts hi-def about how scary she is, needs to do a search for Palin and censorship. One of her first acts as Mayor was to ask the town librarian how to ban books from the library. The librarian quit rather than go along with her. I believe she wanted to ban books along religious lines, but how can anyone not question her view of the world? If she thinks government has a role in determining what we read, how much more power does she want over us and what we think.

I cannot think of anything more un-American than banning books. It only took the Nazis (the last book burners) a decade to take over Germany. Remember Germany had a constitution similar to ours, and many conservatives of that era admired the German government. I'm not chicken little and I don't think we are going down that path, but we have to learn from history to not repeat it. Anyone who believes in censorship does not belong in our government.

    Fiction: What you say above.

    Fact: You're slow.

Let's continue this discussion based on facts, on sincerity and for love of our country and the world...present and future. It is my personal task to myself to help others sift and filter through the garbage...to make an educated and concise decision in November.

OR, what about obamas pastor and mentor for over 20 years, jeremiah wright? The only reason obama cut ties with him is because it was brought to the publics attention that jeremiah was crazy. Obama has been listening to a crazy man that hates america. Why dont people just look at the facts???

I'm trying to ignore you Vinnie, it's not really fair to have a discussion with a "slow" person, but someone might not know the whole story, so in the intrest of truth I will break my silence -- this one time.

William Ayers was a domestic terrorist back during the Viet Nam war; a member of the Weathermen. He was guilty of a number of crimes including explosives, theft, and attempted murder -- if I remember correctly -- I lived through it, Vinnie, and don't need UTube. Anyway, he was captured, tried, convicted and served his sentence. He then became a college professor and works as a community activist in, you guessed it, Chicago.

Obama during the course of his work, knew Ayers and associated with him because of his job. He is on record saying that what Ayers did during his Weatherman days was wrong, criminal and inexcusable. As for Barrack's pastor, do you agree with everything your pastor says? I know you don't Vinnie, just look at the way you treat others -- not very Christian if you ask me.

Obama has denounced the hateful things his pastor said. Why Rev. Wright said the things he said, who knows. I don't imagine an African American of his generation had an easy time growing up in America. I do know everyone is free to have their own opinion.

Vinnie, as I have told you, and you belittled, I was in the service during those days. I hated people like Ayers. I have found a way to forgive those people for what they did to us when we came home. I am intellegent enough to see what's going on in our country and vote the way we need to to solve our problems. Too bad you aren't.

That's Vinnie, Cain. He's more interested in stirring things up than anything else. You've got to admit he's good at it. He's like that person at work who'll tease someone unmercifully knowing they can't do anything about it -- you the type, a bully. He's laughing about the thread and waiting for his next opportunity. Too bad for him the current state of the economy is ruining his arguments so he has to bring up conspiracy stuff even he knows is wrong. But he'll argue to his last breath that he's right. He doesn't know when to stop and always wonders why no one likes him.

And don't get me wrong, I'm not an Obama bin Biden supporter...by any means...but I don't really want to be catagorized as affilliated with people like Vinnie either.

The sad thing is that US politics are like a sporting event...us verses them...and WAY too many people walk lock-step with a "party" for the sake of "the party".

Years ago someone wanted the words "under God" removed from the pledge. But there is a one word sentence that follows that is devastating this country...INDIVISIBLE!!

There's a saying or proverb that goes something like so... A great nation is not defeated from the outside-in, but rather from the inside-out.

And that's what has been happening for decades, slowly eating away...like a cancer...at all that is good & true in this country. There's an enemy out there and he's not an American...one day we will all wake up and say "Hey, I didn't vote for that!"

Americans have become complasent (sp?), fat & lazy. All we truly care about is our BlackBerry's or cars or my nice watch or my iPod or fill in the ________.
