If you had to formulate your own definition of diversity, what would it be?
The word 'formulate' is a rather strong and complex word itself; one that isn't needed to define a simple word such as diversity.
Diversity transcends categories of color, race, gender, creed, national origin, ethnicity, handicap status, sexual orientation, etc. Simply put...when there are choices available; diversity exists.
Everyone being different, unique and bringing something special to this thing we call life. Without diversity, life would not be what we all know it to be. It would be boring.
Do you all know what the smallest minority is? The minority that has the smallest representation? The one that is recognized least by any of these groups or classes? The one that is least respected by government, and most ignored by the same?
How about the one least represented by any protest group, or given love by the media?
The one that doesn't have a lobbyist group?
The individual. That single person, acting in their own best interest, trying to survive in a world that tries to group us by skin color, or ethnic origin, or class, or language.
The greatest diversity is one. To surrender and classify yourself as a member of a group is to assign yourself to the chute, where they line you up for the slaughter, or to be sheared.
Myself, I don't care much for groups. I have my own tide, my own thoughts, and my own ideas. Anyone that has ever tried to classify me has failed. I do not fit in the slot they try and assign me, nor do I always go the direction others desire. I buck the trend, I walk my own path, and I recommend others do the same.
How diverse is that?

If that's Rush, then he may have been listening to me.
But I must say, the group I'm most associated with now is the group that is tired of being trampled on by those that feel entitled to the money we earn, just because they're here. I recommend we give those with the entitlement mentality a plane ticket to the socialist country of their choice. Hey, when France starts figuring it out, you know we've got folks who don't get it.
